Car flooded suspicious of dealer

Brought car into dealership for water leak. I suspected window indexing failure. Told then about it before but they couldn't reproduce issue.
Been smelling like a.c. had been chewing on buttholes for weeks. So I put a bag of damp rid in it last Friday morning before leaving on vacation. Came back and went to install new floormats and found passenger floor soaked
Lol part of reason I switched cars is due to moldy 200k Integra. Sucks to have problem at 3500 miles.
Dealer Gave me a Corolla until they can figure it out.
Dealer found leak to come from amp power cable hole in harness grommet.
Say the tsb for window indexing didn't apply to my car.
Want to put moldy carpet back and charge me $450 for diagnosis.
In going to go there, confirm leak, and check to ensure plugs are installed in floor(while carpet is up but don't know where to look), and assuming all is correct pay the bill.
Guess I screwed myself here.Just need to confirm my ToyoGuard will cover rental.
This is near battery. From what I could tell this is under the cowl so i don't know how water could enter....
I was going to seal it before going in but I saw no water near that area. Others have put amp cables through here and more with no leaks.
My parking lot does flood when there is rain and there was A LOT when i gone on vacation. Tempted to file insurance claim as deductible is $500 but will probably raise rates.

I have my amp wire run through there as well (4ga wire). I was concerned about potential water entry from that location and used some black silicone sealant. Haven't had any issues. You should be able to feel around the interior where the wires come out and see if the foam material is wet or not. That would at least indicate if there was water entry from that location.

Its weird since the hole is somewhat recessed under cowl

I have the white plastic harness grommet out ATM, so the rubber boot isn't even sealed to the firewall. It has rained a few days now and I haven't noticed any water, I'll have to look closer. I would be suspicious of the dealer too. It sounds too much like the a/c, and there is no real way for water to be hitting that high on your firewall only to slip into that one little hole.. dealer probably found and fixed a/c clog, and is pocketing your diagnosis fee due to found modification.

you should put some tissue paper or similar under and around the wiring harness hole. It will be obvious if it becomes wet. This could prove the weather or not the water is coming in through that hole.

Yeah I mean I would have removed cable before bringing it but I found no way for water to come in through there. I know i had a.c. leak in my Integra. Any reported evaporator core leaks for our cars?

I highly doubt water entered there. Don't just let the dealer screw you over for $450. What they did is find something that is not factory in the area and blamed it on that. You most likely have a drain that is not functioning properly. I highly doubt if water got to that height the car would still run, unless you left the hood open while you were away.

Hood was definitely closed. Water MAY have come up to door still levels....MAYBE.
I couldn't see rain water getting in through woke unless as you said hood is open

^ that. I haven't seen anyone post with a core leak, but I have read 2 or 3 peoples post about wet carpet, only to find out it was a blocked a/c condensation drain line. (or similar)

I have the same hole. No water has leaked in so far and I've driven in plenty of bad weather as well as wash the car once a week.

Any idea how old the ones with blocked lines were? How would they cog so early?

after rereading some of this, and the amount of rain you said you had been getting, this could be the problem: "Apparently the Air Conditioner drains into a larger tube that drains water off during rain. This tube was kinked on my BRZ causing the drain tube to back up, when this happened the water flowed back into the evaporation box (???) for the AC and then dumped all over my floor. If this happens to anyone else no need to panic its a simple fix."

Thank you very much! Dealer has history of being incompetent. Part of me wants to just pay and have car back. Other part of me wants to not get screwed and not have a moldy car with 3k on the clock
