Weapon grade performance in Connecticut sells a kit. Or they will sell turn key cars if you want.

Ya...it wasn't until this thread did I know the LS was so popular (from everyone always posting about it, and only IT, lol)....all I've been seeing for the past decade or two is 2JZ this and RB that.
So...what do you guys think the Japanese think about the LSx engine? I'm know they've been doing the more common RB and 2JZ swaps for a long time too (old Option magazines lol). You think they dig LSx engines too, or are gonna start diggin them? |

You have to factor in the maintenance and upkeep of these cars which is NOT CHEAP! As far as your comments of unbalance and effected suspension, do you have any facts to backup these "statements"? Do you personally own or know someone with a LS/2J/RB twin and has complained about these negative attributes? At the end of the day it is totally up to whoever to spend money as they please. Maybe they like the bodystyle of the twin compared to a Porsche or Ferrari. Maybe they do not want the attention of driving them either. Maybe they do not want to pay for the insurance or payments to drive an expensive vehicle. Most of the guys that perform these swaps either pick up their BRZ/FRS from the auction cheap or outright pay them off. |

Why wouldn't it be 100% smog legal? We're not talking about putting a carbed SBC in there, the LS motors are modern designs that are still in production. Quote:
Japanese car culture is going to favor Japanese engines, simple as that. Quote:
Strong enough to push double the output of the twins with ease... The block is fine, and pistons and rods are CHEAP for the LS motors. Quote:
LS motors are common here, not so common there... But this is relevant:

Consumables on the corvette are pricy. But then again your not saving much money doing an engine swap.

This could be done on the cheap once the kit is available if someone was inclined to do the work, rebuild a junkyard LS themselves etc..etc.. every part of the kit can be bought individually. In the future high mileage BRZ and FRS's which retailed in the 24 to 27 k range new are going to be cheap buys . |
