I saw that also. But for what its worth, they didn't use the same photos on the Canadian website as they did for the US. Even if it was photoshopped.

So there's some sort of effort put in there by someone to make sure the colors are black on the seats. The only logical reason I could think of for this is because they will be black in Canada. Otherwise why not simply re-use the US ones?

The disclamier is just to cover their butts. Sort of like "incase shit happens and we don't update the site properly" clause.

All I can say is that the belief that the interior would be all black is based off of a misunderstanding. The interior is described as "black", but the definition is black with red shoulder accents on the seats, and red stitching throughout.
I still believe they will be black because if they photoshopped the colors black, WHY?? Why would they do this other then if it was not to mislead the consumers.

I'm still leaning towards the side which says they will be black. All sources to me are pointing this way.

It certainly seems clear from those photos that at some point Scion Canada thought they were going all-black on the seats but now there is a suggestion from "unnamed sources" that that decision has been reversed. So who the hell knows?

At least we know the red stitching stays elsewhere in the interior.

I agree with you. It's still not very clear exactly what's going to be in Canada or not.

Since I have one on order and my dealer said they will have one in 3 weeks to show us, I can at the very least update you guys when I see it in person. For what its worth, this is the same dealership who was talking to us at the Vancouver Autoshow.

I hope it doesn't have the red bolsters, they look tacky.

But I am sure I could get used to them. I've found that even car features I first think are hideous (front end of the new GC for example) often start to look better over time.

Interesting news. In the GTA there is a big pow-pow for dealers at Scion HQ on the 20th, after which they will know when they are getting testers.

What if they photoshopped them black based on incorrect information, or a wrong interpretation of information? They might have been thinking they were acting in the best interests of the consumer, to show the car as they believed it would be produced...

I've heard the US version comes with a belt buckle the size of a 10 gallon hat embossed with the "86" logo.

The chances of that being true is not very likely. I doubt very much that the reps at both the Autoshow in Toronto and the Autoshow in Vancouver would say the exact same things without the source info being legit. I really doubt that the information used was incorrect.

There's too many people from Scion saying the same thing. The chances are slim to me that the info is wrong.

Issue I can think of is the mis-match potential between exterior and interior colours. Personally I only tolerate red interior bits on monochrome colours (white, silver, gray, black). And that's tolerate. I want a silver car with an all black interior.

Completely agree - that concern had been off my radar as I have already decided on SWP, but with orange or even blue, not good at all. Silver shouldn't be too bad. But really the red is the only color it fully suits provided it is colour-matched.
