CDN vs US FR-S differences

We know we are getting heated mirrors here, and according to someone who attended the VIP event at the CIAS, the Scion Canada brand manager stated that we will not be getting the red accents. But his post is not clear as to whether that applies to the seats only or the entire interior. I would have to think it's the former as the cost of a fully custom interior would be expensive for Canadian volume levels. Anyone know for sure?

I've heard that we are now getting the same interior as the US cars. Not sure about any other differences between CND and US.

We will be getting the same interior (red accents and all) as the US.

I doubt we'll get the BeSspoke up here for the same reasons we don't get Entune.

FYI - For anyone who comments, please explain your sources.

It's going to be hard to determine who's got the correct info if you guys keep posting saying "We will have red seats" without actually telling us how you got this info.

We will continue to go in circles unless we can check the sources.

From my understanding....the fact of whether or not red stitching would be present was a north america decision....I can't see toyota making two interiors of the same car to the same market. If the stitching is in the states (which it is) it should be in Canada as well. And beneale...some people can't give their sources for obvious reasons.

I specifically asked the Scion guys at the Vancouver Show. No red trim. They made it very clear that the red was pre-production only.

Why? What reason would be obvious?

Unless you can give us a little more, there's zero weight to the comments.

The only reason why I care so much is I'm very interested in getting the details about the Canadian version (I have one on order). So getting the correct info up front is really what I'm after.

I guess call me skeptical because I work in tech support. Someone called me the other day and I spent 2 hours working on a printer when IT HAD NO PAPER!!! I tend to not fully believe people unless I can see it for myself.

I was there also and thats the same story I got. This also matches the story we heard out of the Toronto Autoshow a few months ago. That's when the whole "red seats" vs "no red seats" argument started.

 Laugh of the day points for you - a true classic, you should keep a log of incidents like this and do a book. Reminds me so much of helping my father with his PC.

How was he defining "red trim" though - that is the question. Just the accent patches on the seats? All red trim and stitching on seats only? All red stitching everywhere in the car?

To answer this question, check out www.scion.ca .

The website shows interior pics which have black inserts on the seats. But the steering wheel and shifter still have the little red stiches.

So I'm assuming based on the photos of the website (considering this would be advertising of the car), the seats are black but the stiching on the wheel is still there.

But again, I'm only looking at the website photos. I can't really confirm anything other then what they said at the Vancouver autoshow matches the website photos.

And yes! That printer problem is on my "Wall of Shame" !!

I've heard the Canadian version will be much more polite.

Sport-Tech 04-11-2012 02:43 PM

^ Yes I saw those pictures earlier but they always have disclaimers about "not exactly as shown" so I wouldn't put too much faith in them yet.

Make your "Wall of Shame" a wordpress blog or something - others would love to see it!

Those images were photoshopped - the red was removed.

All I can say is that the belief that the interior would be all black is based off of a misunderstanding. The interior is described as "black", but the definition is black with red shoulder accents on the seats, and red stitching throughout.
