Wow this thread...

Makes me laugh a little that people are starting to already say a BRZ/FRS will be quicker (straights and corners) than a s2000. Pulling out weight figures won't tell you the whole story, especially when they are SO close (I mean really, 100-200lbs? That's a passenger).

If I were going to purchase a FRS/BRZ (Sadly, I am not. It's too close in price to my Z new and doesn't have the power I am used to and comfortable with) I would really recommend you drive a s2000 before you test drive the FRS/BRZ.

As far as that article, yeah ok...I'm sure the brz will be destroying a 370Z...yeah.....

Why are people still bringing up old cars that are not made anymore...like S2000 and NSX?

And once again, the S2000 is a two seat roadster comparable to the Miata not the FRS\BRZ...and the NSX is a old ass two seater exotic mid engine sports car, definitely not comparable to a FRS\BRZ...

I guess we can really compare the FR-S to a LFA then? Nah.....the GT-R!!!! LMAO!

Well, considering the guy who wrote the article drove the cars back-to-back he is probably coming from a place of direct comparison between the two. He is also talking about windy, agressive roads. Obviously not straight roads. Did you read the part where the 370 prediciably walked away with the other car's lunches on the straights...??

I understand you take issue with that specific aspect of the article, so please enlighten me on your experience of back-to-back BRZ/370Z driving on the windy and technical roads of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

I could ask you for a hypothetical review of both cars yourself as well. Fact is, we BOTH have not driven the BRZ. However, I *PERSONALLY* can't imagine it being much more invigorating to drive than a s2000. It has the same formula yes, but it's still down on power.

For arguments sake, let's just imagine (because that is all we can really do at this point) that the brz is a miracle car it's built up to be on here that is more entertaining to drive than said s2000. For myself, it wouldn't matter as I cross shopped s2000's with my current car and ended up with the one that not only handled well, but had good acceleration as well. Your personal opinion on what is more acceptable will obviously differ...

And all that twistie road talk, ok so I live in Florida, does that instantly make my car unable to handle better? Because on paper, according to tests, it does.

Well, if we did compare it to a GTR you would have everyone on here up in arms screaming the only reason the gtr handles better is because of its tires..

It's compared to cars that are available that are *LIKE* the brz. S2000's are still out there, miatas, rx8s, older boxters (sorry, not the caymen like people on this forum want to believe they are near that class) and the like. Just because the brz is a "4 seater" (and I would love to see 4 6ft tall guys sit in one) doesn't mean it isn't like the other cars listed.

Actually, I have driven the BRZ. I have also driven an S2000, and a 370Z. Sooo.. yeah. In terms of fun, the BRZ is up on the Z, but see I live in Virginia where we have things like... you know, elevation change and these really weird things called corners. I guess if was back in FL, I would get the Z. It's got some ass to it, and handles well enough. Of course if I was paying 370Z money, I would rather get a 5.0 'Stang.

This is some nice journalistic fluff here..

I must say....Avoiding all relevant information in place of "I think this could, in my opinion it would, i can bet that we could"

He really thinks the stock subaru with prius tires would be right on the arse of a 370z...People act like the 370z is SOOO heavy, it's only 3200lbs..it's lighter than the GenCoupe

^ Still 450 lbs more than a Toyubaru. That's stuffing an extra 3 adults into the car.
