So did you just drill right through the two metal rivets then?

Yeah. I used a small gauge drill to start it. And if needed a larger one.

Huh. That part of the instructions made me nervous for some reason -- thought maybe there was a way around the drilling. Thanks!

Yep drill it out - no room for it with the phantom compressor so it has to go.

I'm hoping to get to Home Depot this weeks and fab a pipe to the sound tube from the airbox - Rob thinks it might sound cool so we shall see.

Course, the bay looks so open and clean with the sound tube and resonators removed, especially with a nice header.

You don't have to drill all the way through. when I got about 1/8th of an inch in, the rivets started free spinning. Just drill below the surface of the rivet, then look inside the air box lid, and you will see the rivet stud sticking out the back, grab with a pair of pliers and twist sideways. The head will pop off pretty easily

Also, the eyelets coming from the controller that are supposed to hit the starter post bolts seem a bit too small. Am I sending them the wrong place?

Full throttle Electric Supercharger Build Thread

Alright, installation all complete.

I noticed three minor hiccups in the installation. First, the turbine stuck out just a little too far to the left at first, making it hard to connect with the throttle body. I figured that out fairly quickly. The drilling of the rivets was something I didn't really love the idea of, but it all worked out perfectly. The battery cover and tie down are a tad awkward, but really not bad and the tie down isn't any worse than stock.

Overall, installation was super easy. Still need to pretty up the wires in the cabin though.

Took her for a test run after installation... wow. Even with the ECU being freshly flashed and the batteries not conditioned and being flashed back to 91oct instead of E85, I'm thoroughly impressed. Really great bang for the buck, and already significantly better than I anticipated. I expect it only gets better as batteries get warmed up. My AFR seemed good, though a little lean in the mids. I'm told this is because the 1.5OFH isnt ready, so I'm running 1.0OFH tune.

I heard from a little birdie earlier today that a true 1.5dump tune as early as the beginning of next week; and 1.5E85 not long after. the 1.5dump is going on shop car this week.

I can't even imagine what that will be like. I have to admit, I was excited with a small bit of skepticism. Now I'm thrilled.

Hey does anyone have any info on when the next batch is going to be released? Don't want to miss out and have have been anticipating this mod for awhile. I heard sometime in July but wondering if any new developments are known.

+1

If the shipment goes out late July, I hope to have it early Aug. Expecting my OFH to ship about the same time. While waiting on my ESC, I wanted to install the header and run the stage 2 tune to make sure that I didn't have any strange codes, leaks or other issues. It's kind of funny, If they get here at the same time, I think it will be quicker to bolt on my supercharger kit then it would be to change out the exhaust manifold, so I may do that first.

*sigh, I'll still need to finish up my battery relocation, and order my dump packs, and get the Phantom tune from Shiv. so much to do, so little time.
