i want a set of @Raceseng for my AST's...time to give them a ring and send me a set to @AZP Installs

i dont plan on running my suspension all year round anymore. too much of an investment for new jersey winters to destroy them. plus i could use the clearance.

+1 for RaceSeng. Love my plates, great service and support, easily adjustable, good quality. I run RCE Yellows and Bilstein B8s currently plus some other random bits.

So do the Raceseng plates affect ride height? I'd want to use the plates with stock struts and RCE yellows (for now) without affecting the drop from the yellows.

No not as far as I can tell, and as far as I know they shouldn't.

If you want more front damper bump travel, get HVT/RCE front top plates. If you want caster adjustability, get RaceSeng fronts. If you want more rear bump travel, get RaceSeng rear top hats.

I just meant that since I'm using stock struts without height adjustability, I won't be able to correct for any drop/raising from the plates.

So the HVT are better for front damper bump travel? Can you explain why and what that means exactly?

When you lower the car with shorter lowering springs, the damper shaft get compressed too, and loses bump travel/stroke. The HVT top plates raise the upper mounting point for aforesaid damper shaft, on the raised top hats...hence, giving you more bump travel and re-aquires some of that bump travel lost from the use of those shorter lowering springs.

It looks like the HVT plates can do "1.8 degrees of camber adjustment". Does that mean 1.8 degrees of negative camber?

The Raceseng plates say they can do 4.5 degrees of negative camber, but I think that is including the use of camber bolts.

Does anyone know the amount of negative camber possible with both plates without the use of bolts?

RaceSeng without bolts goes to about -2.7 degrees on my car.

I have the HVT plates with rce tarmac springs and koni yellows they are fantastic. I have them in combo with the stock camber bolts from subaru. -3.5 degrees up front for camber

I'm looking for caster/camber plates that will work with the stock struts but also WOULD work later on with aftermarket coilovers. It looks like both the HVT and Raceseng will do that.

Any thoughts on comparing these two options? The Raceseng are more pricey but look more badass. If I'm not mistaken, the HVT adds caster but does not have adjustable caster...while the Raceseng allows caster adjustability. (I might be wrong on that.) I'm not sure how useful adjustable caster would be for me.

Since I'm on the stock struts right now, I need plates that won't raise or lower the ride height. Is that true of both the HVT and Raceseng plates?

Thanks for the help.

Have the same amount using HVT plates maxed out, no bolts and at 1" drop.

In my correspondence with Jarrett I was told that the Raceseng plates would not raise the car. I *think* this is because even with standard springs they use a custom spring perch so that the total stack height isn't increased vs stock. That's my theory anyway, hard to say exactly without having them in my hands.

Cheers
Nathan

Are you sure the HVT will work later with coilovers? There are two different versions of those plates, one for oem struts and one for coilovers. I remember seeing something about the spring perch being too small on the coilover version if trying to run oem diameter springs. I might be mistaken, but I don't think the HVT plates can work later for your coilovers.

I emailed HVT about this very thing when I purchased my plates and was told that to switch over, you need is the new perches, which run $100 for the set.
