Early reports are showing the new Mustang is going to be quite a bit lighter and much better handling now that they've ditched the live axle and gone IRS. It's also been tuned a bit for the European market that notoriously hates big unrefined American cars that wallow through corners.

We gotta wait until they're out in the wild to determine anything though.

Newer reports say it is actually heavier than the pervious model.

Yeah, I saw that, but then Ford said otherwise when contacted. Who knows at this point

I do have to admit, it's quite nice looking apart from the odd front end, but it's still a Mustang...

Ford would be pumping that all over if it lost weight. It will be the same or, likely, heavier than the '14. The car grew in every direction, gained IRS, and content. It will tip the scales at 3650lbs on the lightest versions, IMO.

I hope this doesn't not become a Ford Mustang thread. There's a place for that....i'm just putting it out there. I don't mean to spoil the party...

This new WR Blue might be the same found on the 2015 WRX STI. I read on a Subaru forum that this new blue is 3-stage whereas the pre-2015 blue is 2-stage (but still thin as paint easily chipped off the 2015 STI owner's door). If true, then a bit more premium and maybe a bit harder to color match.

Old WRB paint code: 02C
New WRB paint code: K7X

Took these pics a month ago without even realizing the blues were different:

That is a sick rear-window. How much and where did you get that, may I ask?

It just looks great.

Oh so hard to tell from pics because of the different body shapes, but it looks like it might be slightly darker.

You have the uberlight twins with near perfect handling balance, then you have a heavy, softly-sprung domestic with more power and crappy build quality.

But..If you are seriously shopping the two, you just might be happier with the Mustang. Especially if you think the world revolves around smoking the tires at each stoplight.

Just not my thing. At all.
Be careful when making assumptions about a car that hasn't been released yet, let alone thoroughly tested by reviewers and owners. The new Mustang gains IRS and a new front suspension setup, and was supposed to have also dropped some weight (new reports out of Steeda and elsewhere SPECULATE that it might have gained weight).

It won't handle as good as an FR-S or BRZ, but whether it is a softly-sprung dumpmestic fat bloated pig is as yet to be determined.

Nice! How was installing it on your BRZ? Did it take long?

Installation isn't hard at all. Should take 30 minutes or less if you ditch the templates and directly mark onto the window where to place the brackets using the mounting holes on the louvers as guides (which I ended up doing).
