Bought in February, have 7000kms already
And have had crickets the whole time,
Other than that, no issues

The man speaks the truth. I must remember that, when explaining why my Altima has racing motor mounts.

The BRZ is a highly unusual vehicle, I feel the engineering is quite retro in terms of refinement and specifications. Either you'll like it, or you won't. If you dislike the car but buy it because it's trendy, misery is guaranteed. At any rate you'll eventually, or immediately, notice that it's generally low quality: there's a reason they're all modified.

I have an early 13 MY. Just got a taillight replaced for condensation today. Crickets are my friends. Don't know what I would do without them. Get an exhaust system if you don't like 'em. Some people have had more issues than others. It's more of an exception than the rule. Get one and drive the hell out of it. You only live once!

I have a 2014 Monogram...zero issues. I don't think I even have the crickets. All 1st year cars will have some quirks, the hope is the car is designed and engineered well that if issues crop up, there is a remedy or it doesn't affect the overall longevity of the vehicle. That appears to be the case with this car.

I have a 2014 BRZ build date 9/13 bought in Nov. '13. 7500 miles. I have crickets but they dont really annoy me that much they arent that loud. Better fuel like shell or BP seems to improve it

I do autoX, road trips with spirited driving, 1/4 mile runs etc.

I also have other stupid quirks like rattling in the drivers door and a squeaky window when wet but otherwise its fine. It a cheap car with all its engineering in the chassis, not refined interior, noise, etc.

i've had crickets since under 150 miles... and it was 89 miles home. test drive ended with 12 miles on the car. just rolled over 1000 miles and its there once the car warms up any and its under 1100rpm. just a direct injection feature to me... my old turbo cobalt had a hell of a rattley high pressure fuel pump that i got used to.

I just had my 2014 for a month now and it had the fuel pump chirp also. Other that, all is well. Just like how the focus is on the guts of the car. Fun car!

The idle dips and stumbles sometimes, but that's happened on every car I've had that has working air conditioning. An OFT makes that go away.

I've got a slight rattle coming from the passenger side interior by the b pillar; I think it might be the seatbelt hitting plastic. Turning my radio up makes that go away.
Oft does not make that go away!

just my 2 cents but as far as the crickets, i haven't noticed them since i started using Shell gasoline (premium). the crickets are very annoying and when i first noticed them , i immediately made an appointment at my local dealership. i elected to wait till toyota comes up with a final fix for it but from the sound of it- its not coming anytime soon. i've been keeping tabs on my gas((kept receipts) and actually noticed that my crickets are completely gone, or at least i have not heard them for over 7 months now. so i looked back at all my receipts and the one constant thing i noticed was since january 2014- the only gas i've used is Shell premium gas. keep in mind that this car is not my daily driver and currently only have 11,000+ miles on it. so for now , all is good with no crickets to annoy me. just my experience.
