Not the same class of car at all. SC is a high end GT, what they need is a small, light, sexy, quick, roadster.

I dont understand all the scion hate. If Scion is to ever come out of its Eco-box ricer POS persona, They are going to need a car that will push them through that barrier. Something that will possibly be a legend. The FT could maybe be that car. I would hate to hear you guys bitch if scion were to announce the next Supra would be under a scion badge.

I still would prefer Toyota.
I would shoot somebody at Toyota. Scion had a good thing going, but the people behind it just sat on their hands and dwadled. Scion was supposed to change up every 3-4 years, the tC has been on a year cycle and it's their best selling model. WTF?

Scion has potential. I think it can be saved. Just needs the right car. The FT-86 nor the Supra isn't it though.

Something on the FT-86 platform though?

Fuck marketing douchebags.

And fuck Scion.
It's not a rebodied nascar, It just has a nascar engine... which I think is cool as fuck. Irrelevant, but cool as fuck.

Scion doesn't go after the enthusiast, it goes after the "hip" crowd, and while I am no fan, the have garnered quite an enthusiast base and they have done some fucking amazing things with the AZ engine platform.

Fuck the product planners and marketers behind Scion.

Very few of the media-darling 'Scions' are actually AZ powered (just checked out their site a while back), basically the road-racing ones that are rules-mandated. And one of the drift cars, but that's obviously had other extensive mods, and the motor is pretty far from stock. When it comes to making unlimited 'Scion' power they go 2JZ (I think I just died a little inside...) or 3RZ.

The other thing is these are factory-supported 'privateer' teams. Part of Scion's 'grass-roots' marketing blitz. "Look real racers are using Scions!" The teams that are using the AZ are using it because they were given it, and support for it. Not because they chose it.

The Scion 'sport-compact' scene is completely corporate-driven and feels 'wrong'. It's all artificial. That is something about it that really rubs me the wrong way. Lexus was at least driven as much, if not more by the engineering and product. For example the cars people could actually buy.

Ok so Foust's car isn't a full-blown NASCAR, it's just a RWD tC powered by a NASCAR V8. Still way closer to NASCAR than Scion.

You get where I'm coming from anyways.

Scion is a brand where they're trying to force it upon people instead of producing excellent product and letting people come to them.

If this Scion clusterfuck happens, my LFA rant will look like I was worshiping it in comparison.

And I will hope to hell we get the Subaru version so I won't be forced to drive a fucking Scion...

They don't have a fuckin' e-mail system? Why would I send them a letter that would probably get lost on someones desk, or in the filing system -- and why would I waste my money on a long distance phone call?

They have to have an e-mail address somewhere available for us.

I think Facebook and email are better choices to get our voices heard by Toyota. Most people here stay in front computer more than talk on their phones. Well, I will try then...

I just read through the article for the first time... I would prefer the car to come out as a Toyota but as long as it keeps the looks, performance, and price tag I don't care too much if it'll be Toyota, Scion, or even Lexus... You can always remove or get the badges of your choice, hopefully the holes line up if there are any

For me it's the bigger picture that is the concern.

If this car comes out as a Scion that means that Marketing has more influence on development than Engineering. This would set a bad precedent for performance development, where it would become more important for people to BELIEVE in performance than for the car to REALLY perform.

They are trying to create the belief that Scion is a performance brand, by using cars that are completely different to what they actually sell, beyond having the same name. Who knows how they justify this? "People don't ACTUALLY want to drift. It's just cool to watch and be part of the scene, so people will still buy tC's" I don't know... The brand itself is a poser when it comes to performance, and I have no interest in supporting that.

If they start muscling in on what start off as REAL performance cars, who knows what damage they could cause: "Well, since people only want a car that LOOKS fast, we can add in some power seats, full glass panel sunroof, and not bother wasting engineering resources on performance. Better raise it so people don't have to slow down for speed bumps, and soften the suspension for comfort. Now more people will buy it, because it's more like a Camry, and lots of people buy Camrys!"

Facebook and email are better choices most definitely but, unfortunately toyota disabled there email contact method due to the high volume of emails they receive due to the recalls; I created a facebook group that you can join by clickin on the link

http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php...5142896&ref=mf

My gut and intuition tells me that it won't happen but still let's see what develops as time goes on.
