Which brings up another question that's sort of OT.

I don't really want to buy snow tires because most years we only get about 5 days of snow per year... and I work from home 95% of the time... and if I have to go anywhere in the snow, I can always take our Accord.

However, I fear that if I buy Pilot Super Sports, I'll have a car that's completely useless in winter (however, I didn't find the car completely useless in winter on the stock tires - it was just completely useless if there was any snow on the road... which was seemingly every other day this last winter).

What I want is more grip than stock, but I want to be able to drive in wet and cold conditions. As far as wet/cold traction are the PSS's better or worse than the stock tires?

I ran about 10 0-60 runs. My 40-60 time has dropped even further to 2.2 seconds (from 2.9 stock and 2.4 last week), but the best 0-60 I've been able to clock is a 6.2 (which is a tenth or two better than last week and 0.3 better than my best stock time.

I've tried lots of wheelspin. I've tried no wheelspin. I've started in second gear and got a 6.3. I've tried with nannies on and nannies completely off.

What's the secret to breaking 6 seconds? I know it can be done - heck, I've dropped 0.7 off my 40-60 time... that should translate into at least 0.7 off the 0-60 time.

Thoughts?
The shift to 3rd is a killer

That's the other thing... stock I had to shift to 3rd. Now with the ESC tune, it's not necessary - the car will hit 61mph (according to torque pro app) in 2nd.

So my times have improved even less considering that I used to have to do the 2nd to 3rd shift and don't have to anymore.

My .5 dump pack conversion tray was mailed out on 5/29. Still not here yet. Looks like it won't make it in time for this weekend's autocross event.

Look up General Altimax HP or G Max AS 03. They are well priced and have fantastic dry grip and surprisingly good wet/cold/snow grip. My sister has the Altimax HPs on here car and it went from not even being able to move with a dusting of snow to being safe in 2". I have the Altimax Artics on my stock wheels and they have more grip in the cold wet than the stock tires in the dry.

I would give-up worrying about 0-60 times. It's just a bragging rights thing...that the haters wont believe anyway.

I could better feel where Tadasan was going with the design. I felt like I was growing again as driver. The car was made to drive like a proper light weight sports car that a person can live with day to day. I'd never sell it, even without the extra Phantom power from Rob.

With the ESC's power and torque reaching the limits of the chassis and stock tires happens A LOT faster. 60-90 in 4th gear is a couple of blinks. 100+ is familiar territory. This makes the car feel more engaged on the highway, and edgier on curvy roads. It's as quick as it sounds now. The driving experience is more like a "light and nimble GT". I don't have to work to get the power. For daily driving this is a godsend. The performance envelope has grown so now to challenge myself responsibly and get that sports car experience, the car and Phantom ESC need to go to the track.
I agree with how you feel. I remember once before I had the ESC, I drove next an older gentlemen with a Porsche 911 turbo cabriolet on the highway. And then he was really hauling. I tried my best to keep up with him, downshifting and revving near redline just to not lose him.

After a minute or two, he drove next to me, gave me a smile and a thumbs up, and then we went our separate ways. Awesome experience.

With the ESC. I don't even need to try to accelerate in normal daily driving now.

As mentioned before, it's tires.

With the stock Primacy's you need both warm tires and tarmac to get a sub 6.0 launch. In Southern California we have both in spades. The car is totally capable of mid-high 5 second pulls and even better when we get e85. Keep in mind what you're doing to your clutch just to chase down this number.

I agree it's not worth trying to get this number down. Also you need to make sure te tires are warm, the Tarmac is prepped, the batteries are warmed up and you get a good launch.

Just enjoy it man!

Really easy way to test what your 0-60 time is if you had good tires but don't. Is to find a patch in the road that looks like knurls(Kinda like a vibrating lane) and launch as hard as you are willing to push your cars limits

I just want to break 6 for my own satisfaction... high 5s was more or less my goal in doing the ESC - as there's little else "legal" to measure the increase in performance. It may be silly, but it's what I want to do.

Of course, I know the car is faster... the 40-60 time shows that.

Check everything upstream of the ESC (panel filter, intake housing fitment, etc).

Are you tuned on an Open Flash Tablet, if so, read a few pages back for the issue @shif7i7down was having with his tune settings here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...postcount=5751
