CEL blinking in my new car

Hi everybody,

My CEL is blinking since I got my car from the dealer (a month ago).
They told me because it was low on fuel and that it will go after several trips.
Now after a month, the CEL is still blinking all the time, I scanned for errors but nothing was found.
The car runs perfectly and I don't have any issues.
I disconnected the battery for 20 min to try to reset the ECU but the problem remains.

can anyone help me ?

Thank you

You need to take it to a different dealer.

Normally, if the CEL is blinking, it means there is something terribly terribly wrong with the car and you should not be driving it. I agree with Freetime. Find another dealer.

Blinking CEL = misfiring.

Get it to a dealer asap.

I think your PDI fuse was never removed. I'll take a picture when I get a chance.

Flashing is usually misfire with possible damage to the catalytic converter.

Thank you guys for your replies, but I don't think the problem is misfire.

First of all I am going to check if the "Delivery mode connector" wire is connected: It is step 30 in the PID probably missed by the dealer (http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9331).

Second of all, can anyone guide us please to the location of the PDI fuse mentioned in the quote above ? it can cause the CEL to flash.
I also found this in another thread talking about it:

Trying to find that thread again, but having a hard time looking for it. lol
This is the other condition that Toyota/Scion techs aren't/weren't accustomed to. Until the "Short Pin" is installed in the vehicle, the MIL flashes constantly (another Toyota first). This happens in the manual or automatic and threw me for a loop the first car I did.

That condition doesn't actually include any connectors though, the "Short Pin" is actually a 30 amp fuse in the fuse box in the engine compartment, completely unrelated.

Its a month old...

Don't trouble shoot SHIT.

Take it to your dealership or another dealership.

Worse thing you can do is mess around and have your dealership, who has proven to be dumb as hell...they will claim you did the damage.

Also, the Twins seem to have a fair number of gremlins...you may have a bad one.

What is so complicated with: Just go to the fucking dealer and let them deal with it. If you damage your car by troubleshooting it yourself, you fuck YOURSELF in the ass.

Just go see a dealer and let them figure it out while you still can.

Ya, stop trying to be that smart guy. There were cases of 86s with faulty injector. Send to different dealer ASAP.

That's it. I'd be wary of going to a dealer that told you to "go ahead, keep driving, it'll go out" that's complete utter bullshit.

Btw, I've PDI quite a few BRZs, never had I disconnect the D-check connector. It's not under the kick panel like the PDI sheet suggest. I don't think it has one, at least the BRZs don't.

If fuse is in the correct location, take to dealer (or another dealer) and make them fix it. End of worries. Can't believe you have driven it a month with the light flashing and believed the dealers BS about it'll go out?
