I'm a third-genner and we get the "my rear wiper and defroster stopped working suddenly" posts on a daily basis, and there's 100 helpful replies of "make sure your rear window is rolled all the way up. cheers!" and MAYBE one Search Nazi. Guess it's a more mature crowd over there.

I say the same as most... all MT are like that, too lower RPM and it rattles, too low is for many cars below 2K. As here the MT is just about in the cabin (rather than in the hood) and the stick is directly on it (rather than cables/pushrods) it just makes it more noticeable than on other cars (Celica, Tiburon, ...)

The awkardest moment is when you just about stop but not quite and you're too lazy to downshift (specially as downshifting when cold can be awckward) then you try to accelerate at 1200RPM in second and it sounds bogged down... must say it's pretty jerky to take a roundabout at 30 or 40KMH in 1st...

While I'm not assuming anything about you, maybe it's just the way you asked the question, or lack thereof.

Although I do agree to some extent about the part not wanting to hang out with some members, if only a small amount. There are a lot of intelligent users on here but I think it's gotten to the point where they don't even bother anymore.

This car is easily attainable to youngsters, who before had only the option to buy civic hand me downs and modify to their liking, thinking what they had was a race car. This has had a negative effect in a way. The 86 is better than it's given credit for. It might be made of inexpensive parts and it may be affordable but it's certainly not a cheap car. It's a serious car in the hands of mere children, which will always be weird formula.

Ignore the trolls, surprising that this many people don't think that there can be a potential problem with the transmission. Just take a browse in the issues/warranty/recall section, its flooded with tons of problems in these cars.

Keep us updated on what you find.

I agree. It was definitely the way the question was asked. I haven't been on the site long but everyone seems pretty nice actually. To each his own I guess.

Guess it comes with the car though. Is this how it goes on the Honda forums too? My 4Runner forum is filled with people I'd actually travel to hang out with. 96% of this forum I'd avoid at a local car show. Theres a problem there.
That would have been a great way to ask the question from the start, something just about everyone is guilty of. I avoid 99.9% of the people on this forum, as the only thing I have in common with them is a car.

Punks? You sound like someone to avoid at a car show.

Here's your OP, OP.

How were we supposed to know you aren't some 17-year-old kid who just graduated from his mom's hand-me-down Corolla?

If you've been in "the scene" long enough you know that with cars like these you get all kinds of whining about noise, vibration and harshness because people expect their car they paid "$XX K for" should "NEVER" sound like that.

For example, every Nissan Z owner ever who didn't know what they bought says, "My car goes CLANK when I shift to 2nd" and "My car sounds like ball bearings in a coffee can when I have the clutch in at a light" and you tell them it's normal... Guess what they say? "NO THIS CAN'T BE NORMAL I CAN'T BELIEVE A $35K CAR SHOULD EVER SOUND LIKE THIS."

So, maybe consider qualifying your post a little next time. Unfortunately, you sounded like a clueless n00b so you got the clueless n00b responses. Not really our fault, is it.

That's not an entirely unreasonable question. You can't just buy BRZ headlights and put them on an FRS without some modification.
But l understand what you meant, just gave a bad example.

OP, I think most ppl are as clear & as nice as they can in respond to your question already.
Cuz it really is one of those questions that ppl who don't have much experience with a manual asks.
