Did you give your Ecu enough time to learn the flash. Usually takes about 80 miles before I start driving hard...

Any mod you make that increases power theoreticly increases loads and stresses and pushes engine and other components further from their designed and tested limits, its a risk you have to accept if you modify anything
Although it does run a lot cooler and with DI, not entirely sure that it would actually under more stress for NA applications.
We've all seen loads of knock in hot weather on gas, especially on stock tune, surely this has to be a lot worse than running cooler instead?

agree, was more going down the line of general mechanical stresses with mods more power more load ect or hey i put in a super heavy clutch no more slip but it causes gearbox failure due increased shock load a few weeks later

although knock is probably the worst kind of loadfor an engine

No, I didn't give it 80 miles before going wot. Is 7 sec normal for a auto with e85?

In addition, now what? Besides aftermarket headers and FI, there honesty doesn't seem to be any way to really gain anymore real power.
Intakes seem like a waste and the little you might gain from an exhaust doesn't seem worth all the noise lol.

Thank!

The real question is how are you measuring your 0-60 runs?

Just using the torque app; way out on some deserted county roads. I did the same with the unichip using the most aggressive tune + some torco, my times were a tad faster than 7. I believe stock is 8 sec. I understand the car wasn't designed to be "fast", but I was hoping for mid 6's with e85.

0-60 is a poor indicator of performance because it relies so heavily on a great launch, tarmac and tire temps, atmospheric conditions, etc. Also, you have an automatic which have pretty consistently reflected nearly a full second slower to 60 than the 6MT.

Better performance metrics are 5-30, 30-60, 50-90 or even 90-120, anything from a roll in real world driving conditions. On a track do you ever acellerate to 60 from a full stop? AutoX maybe.

Don't get too worked up about 0-60. Third gear is where all the fun is anyhow, and especially on e85.

Depending on how much 91/93 was left in the tank on initial fillup then yes it can.

Been running e85 for a while now. Never had a problem. Cold start is fine. I live in Florida though. Dynod 193whp completely stock except for e85 and Borla axel back.

Also running the E85 here in Aussie land. Zero problems after more than 12000km on it. I do use the lucas ethanol treatment just to be sure though, as do a fair few of the e85 users here.

So far so good! Seems to be getting stronger, but I'm guessing that is because I'm losing the weight from the gas I'm burning up lol. Waiting till close to empty to try and make this next tank closer to 100% of e85....From my understanding as long as your above E50 or so, once the ecu adjust there shouldn't be a difference over e85?

PS: NO hard starts!!! Sadly even though its may 26; the Chicago-land area last night was in the high 40's and the car started up just fine. Curious if it could handle the winter though....

THANK YOU!!!!!

I FEEL THE SAME WAY NOW! I can't imagine what the car would feel like back on the stage 1 tune, or even worst using the stock tune lol. Stock always felt okay, at times it felt "quick", but now e85 has ruined me forever!
