Got any Torx bits? I've had reasonable luck using those to get out rounded off allen bolts

I did this at my shop to get them out. I hammered in a thin Flathead screw driver in there to create a groove of the Flathead. Once that is done, take a box wrench that will fit on the base of it (where the grip is) and push down on the driver as hard as possible while slowly pulling/turning the box wrench. I think my snapon drivers were a 10mm at the base. I forgot though, but hopefully you know what I mean. I also used some WD40 in hope of it slightly entering the threads.

see at the base where the grip is? you can slide a box wrench on there. I believe a 10mm.

1.slide on box wrench first to the shaft of the flathead (that's probably what she said yes i know ha ha ya ya.)
2. push down on the driver as hard as possible with all your weight while turning the box wrench in attempt to loosen the dipstick.

hope this helps!!

oh and careful going too deep. last thing you want is the shards getting into the blower. eeeeeek

I striped the dipstick and ended up hammering a 5mm into it and have never had any problems ever since. The brass is soft is it was pretty easy.

Does anyone know if there's an off the shelf replacement for the check valve. I need a new one (lost in transit from the original owner)... I know the Vortech part number is 7P375-378, it's $26 bucks, wondering if there's a suitable replacement I can source at a local autoparts store. thanks... If not, all good..

Anyone have an issue starting a new owners thread instead of this old ass post that is way to long? It would be nice to organize a whole bunch of topics, owners, tips/tricks and problems without having to look through all this.

Thanks I will post up some things in this thread instead to add, as to not clog up the new one, recommend others do the same thing.

Can all Vortech owners post up your dynos in here on what tuner you had and what basic mods?

Are there preferred units? I was looking at the Cusco. But I'd like something fairly compact. Is there maybe a 2 in 1 unit on the market?

thanks again.

So I picked up a FBM Catch Can for the car.
I notice that some mfg's want you to remove the PCV valve and others don't. FBM wants you too according to the instructions. Any tips on how to remove it?

Thanks

Take a socket place it over the valve and unscrew it.
