I rarely see an FRS' where I live in Lex, KY. I have only seen 3 BRZs in the past 2 years. I knew one of the BRZ owners and he already traded up for a new WRX hatch.

In a one mile (1.6km) radius from my house there are probably around 20-30 FR-S or BRZ owners. I only know this because I bike a lot (especially within the one mile radius of my house...) I mostly see them in garages or parked on the driveway.

Traveling into Sydney's *** and back home each day I see an average of 5 or 6. Still a very popular car here with average monthly sales between 500~550 86/BRZ combind.
http://www.caradvice.com.au/245493/t...-global-sales/ At least for the ones I see, about 70% of them are modified in some way. |

In Moscow I see many more than 10 Porsches (mostly Cayennes and Panameras though) per hour of driving but rarely a GT86 more often than once a week. And after I bought one in Dec 2012, I saw another GT86 on the street only like in April 2013...
Apparently not more than couple of hundreds of GT86s/BRZs sold in Russia, my car is way more exotic here than even a 911 not to mention also-Porsches mentioned above or Bentleys. I'd say just slightly less exotic than Ferraris and Lambos

Over here in Switzerland they sell very poorly, Toyota has already reacted to it and lowered the price for about 3000$ 6Months after it went on sale. They first only offered the fully loaded high spec GT86 and now also offer the even cheaper "Race" Edition (its basically the FRS, with another 6000$ discount on the fully loaded GT86) which is higly unusual for our marked.
I guess the biggest problem over here is that for the price they offer the car (around 38000$ for the baseline (FRS) and about 46000$ for the fully loaded GT86) it just has to compete with so much "more practical" or "more prestige" options you can buy over here. (For example, an '15 STI is about 48000$, ) That is ofc if you dont know why the GT86 is great. Its sad, but I guess unless Toyota lowers the price below the 30000$ line it wont have good sales at all

I've got a stock Asphalt in Lexington KY, but I don't think I drive it around enough for people to see it. However, I see a red FRS parked down next to Joe Bologna's every time I'm downtown. So far I've seen 50% female/male drivers.

I'm in france and i've seen one 86 in 2 years! I think the problem is that car is a toy and 33600€ is a lot of money. Toyata has made no publicity! It began to say that an supercharger, or a 2.5l or hybrid could reach the market. It's for me an error. I was thinking to buy it but when i heard that a sedan was in the box....

In the Netherlands the cars are also pretty rare.
Right now there are 159 cars sold (or are available at the dealers). Selling numbers: 2012 GT86: 113 / BRZ: 22 2013 GT86: 14 / BRZ: none 2014 GT86: 7 / BRZ: 3 Like Killerbee said, probably because of the high taxes which affects the price. GT86 base: 39.990 euros => 54.646 US dollars BRZ: 38.995 euros => 53.287 US dollars The NL goverment promotes eco-friendly cars, and bills extra taxes for fun-to-drive-cars. The new STI for example costs around 75.995 euro -> 103.847 us dollar which is caused by the extra taxes for the high amount of CO2 emissions. So most of the Dutch cars are VW Bluemotions, EV's and hybrids.

I live in small city near Helsinki with approx. 9000 people (yes, 9000 is enough to be a city in Finland) and work in Helsinki (our capital, +600k people). I drive almost 19k miles per year around Finland and I have never seen BRZ and actually saw a GT86 for the first time last week.
![]() Totally 42 GT86 and 2 BRZ were registered in 2013. Most popular car model was VW Golf with 5064 cars registered in 2013. Last edited by Mikko; 05-22-2014 at 08:22 AM. Reason: typo |

Man, seems like the twins are pretty scarce in Europe. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more twins in California than there are in the entire European continent.

I live in Paris, France and I've seen only 2 GT86s and 0 BRZ so far.
I think most people in France/Europe do not have money to waste in toys like the twins, they spend money (when they have some) in functional cars with a hatch. Because of the economic crisis, buying unpractical cars is a luxury people cannot afford any more. And people who have money want to show and prove they have by driving cars from Audi, BMW or Mercedes. Envoyé de mon GT-N7000 en utilisant Tapatalk |

Also the weather in Scandinavia is a key factor for low sales numbers. We have harsh winters and people prefer small SUVs and cars with higher ground clearance. Even BMW sells most of the cars as AWD here..
Though I'm planning to use it as DD all year and have a set of studded winter tires ready.. |

It doesn't really matter, but when I was in Japan I saw at least three 86s every day in Tokyo, almost none in other cities.
In Switzerland, in the south where wheater is warmer, you'll see at least one per day on the streets . |
