I disagree.

you have to consider the big picture, R&D,, test, manufacturing, logistics, TRD royalties, then re-sale markup,...........this is a $50 dollar part.

So all this did was change the button color, and reduced a couple of grams for $225?

Hmmm, yes and no. The raw materials - plastic, copper, steel, etc might amount to the $2 your mentioning.

This is like saying "Hey, that car is only worth $300 in raw materials. Why are they charging 30K?"

This switch has a lot going on, like any other switch in an automobile.

I think you would be hard pressed to find any automotive switch, relay, harness, etc that would cost $2.

It's not just red. It's an entirely new switch that is plug and play with the existing harness.

When you are talking about something as important as ignition, I think it's worth the 200 bucks cost of entry. Hence, why I have the STi version on my car.

Yeap. My STI button definitely made the car start better AND added about 5hp up top.

Sorry for the post bump... but does the button come with a fob you can keep in your pocket so you don't have to insert your keys in the button?

He already had that. He is driving a gt86 that already had push button start. All he did was change the button to the TRD one.

Couldn't you just get a red sticker that says TDR and put it over your button?
