What should it be reading shiv? I've got several occurances of it going from 0 to 100 on logs I've taken since the update. A01C calID here.

I get the same thing with my 700C ID. Maybe the next round of updates will fix them?

Hey @shiv@vishnu I am considering permanently mounting my OFT so that I could easily log things, if needed.

I have an ultragauge that I use, so I'll be drawing a couple of comparisons to that.

1. The ultragauge, although is always drawing power, turns to "off mode" when the car is off. So there is no display lit up. Therefor, you'll have no need to unplug it whenever you get out of the car. Is there any feature on the OFT that I have overlooked that would let you do this? I was thinking it could work like, once the ignition is off, the OFT powers down.. but if you tap it, it wakes back up (lets say, if you were tuning, etc.)

2. The ultragauge also has a predetermined instrument panel set up, so every time it turns on, it just takes you to the gauges you'd like to look at. Any way we could see something like this for OFT? Like, it automatically takes you to AFR screen on start maybe?

I love the idea of replacing gauges with the OFT, but if you really want to constantly monitor things as you could with a real gauge, I think these things would be limitations for me. Would love to hear back from you on what the current plans are, or if I'm missing anything

thanks shiv, also hope you've had/about to have a great wedding

I would also like an answer to these questions. I was considering pulling the OFT apart to wire in a power switch, but I would rather avoid that if there is a possibility of a relatively easy software solution. I have a RAM mount for various devices, OFT included, and constantly plugging and unplugging this thing every time you drive gets to be annoying after a while.

In for results. Got mine mounted up, unplugging becoming a bit of a hassle

i still get either 0 or 100 on 700c rom.
@shiv@vishnu any updates on this? also any news on getting the original rom file upgraded? all my attempts to get the dealer to update mine have failed.

How are you guys mounting the OFT? Pics?

I used some shaping foam and industrial Velcro to mount it in the left air vent but it's not the best solution. I do like the location though.

Check my build thread in signature, essentially 3M 'velcro' tabs to manage cables and iMagnet mount for OFT itself. If we get an on/off for OFT I'll be moving where I'm currently mounting the iMagnet so that it's not on the door - possibly the A Pillar or close by.

I don't recommend opening the OFT case to install your own on/off switch. The enclosures don't open and close very easily at all. A better solution would be to implement a switch in the harness itself. At least this way you are only fiddling with a cheap cable and not the tablet itself. The risk with an on/off switch is accidentally killing power during a write process. So make sure the switch you make is solid. Another, possibly better option, would be to intercept the 12v power line just upstream of the OBD2 plug, extend it, and add a dash mounted switch there. I like that idea more myself as it would make it impossible for anyone (even the dealership) to flash your ECU with the OBD2 12v power killed

Cheers,
shiv

Hi Shiv

so I then take it what was mentioned in my earlier post is not in the plans for current open flash development?

can anyone confirm that the number 16 is for power, as per this pic?
I may check with a voltmeter.
