Wow look nice but it's very expensive. If I check the quantities I use each time, it's not a big deal for me... I pass an receptacle by summer.

I like the Meguiar's Ultimate Polish followed by Meguiar's NXT 2.0 (or the Megs Ultimate Wax might be better?) with a layer of Griot's Best of Show on top. Here's my dark gray metallic forester last year...

Fozzy Love

Dark vehicles are so much work, but so worth it.

Since we're on the topic of what has worked well, here are my results with Pinnacle. Once I run out, I will be trying out Wolfgang's line as I've seen and heard many good things.

OP, check out Meguiars Black Wax. I love it.

http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars-black-wax.html

First use Meguiars deep crystal polish, its specifically made for black cars as well then top it off with the wax. Meguiars has been around for years and their products are top notch

I have an asphalt FR-S so I like to use the same products recommended for a black car. The below picture was achieved using a clay bar, Meguiars Ultimate Polish, and Meguiars Black Wax.

After seeing those red rally armor flaps on that black car I almost wish I had got mine in black. I use meguiars ultimate on my ultramarine and it gives an amazing shine. Really easy to work with too.

There are a lot of good waxes and there is no "best". But, to add to the list of suggestions, try out Chemical Guys BlackLight. It's synthetic, but you won't be disappointed!

We have to chime in here and say this. Wax is....WAX!

The color of the wax has nothing to do with how it bonds to the clear coat.

We see so many companies coming out with different types of colored wax products and well we here to say you have wasted your money.

Wax is simply a protective shell that breaks down over time. The color does not play any role in its ability to produce a deeper shine.

Synthetic wax will not give you a true deep luster like real high grade carnauba based wax.
