If your car is a keeper/or you are a track rat... This is one of those 'must have' mods.
How much did it run you total?

Around $700-ish for the Part, and a further $900 for the install(I had a whole bunch of other stuff done while the car was at the workshop(from build thread):
- STi Group-N Engine Mounts installed
- STi Group-N Transmission Mounts installed
- DEI Titanium Heatwrapped wrapped on the whole exhaust(I supplied heatwrap)
- Toyota 4.556:1 installed
- Whiteline KDT 925 Diff Insert bushings installed
- Changed out TRD pads(worn) back to stock(until my Project Mu HC+'s arrive)

Just so you all know, modern subarus use the front abs sensors as the vehicle speed sensor. if one goes bad, cel and no speedo. So changing gearing and such will not affect your speedo. However, this is based on a known wheel/tire diameter (~24.6") so wheels/tires that are different overall dia. than stock WILL affect your speedo. just my .02 to this thread...

This is going to happen. I have a feeling this will be a bigger change by quite a bit than a tune on my AT.... Don't know how I'll come up with cash, but I need to do this so I can document it for the AT guys, and do some comparisons, stock AT vs modified and modified vs MT. I expect it should be close to the stock MT gearing now, maybe slightly shorter.

If the LSD is for the GT86/FRS/BRZ then there should be no reason why it wouldn't work. I have around 5k miles on my 4.56 FD and love the added acceleration. It isn't as drastic of a modification as one might think. I had to drive next to a friend in his FRS to see what RPM he was at at any given speed and it never was excessively different. And for the worry warts who wonder about the change in MPG mine dropped not even 1/2 MPG.

4.88 with an automatic I think would be doable but not with a manual though. Not unless you intend to stay off the freeway or only cruise at like 50-55 mph.

It would be hard to notice the difference unless you had a side by side video of 2 tachometers and speedometer, one with the stock 4.10 and one with the 4.56.
