I LOVE drag reduction....any time you tip into the throttle the charger adds just a bit of boost to get you going.....im tempted to call it 'torque fill' but then mclearen might sue me

Drag reduction really is the crown jewel of this whole system.
I think I understand all that... The option of WOT without boost is just that - an option... and I like to keep my options open. LOL.

I think what you're describing with the term "drag reduction" is the resolution of the problem of the fan blocking the intake when the fan isn't moving..?

Thanks.

@Bu-Tang used the small starter this winter, i will let him speak to his experience with starting in the cold.
[ame]http://youtu.be/VroXMtPPLLU[/ame]

This was my cold start after sitting in -30C for 5 days without starting.

I drove mine all winter and when it was -40C with windchill it was a slightly weak start but still fired right up. you will not run into a single issue if you drive your car on a regular basis and dont leave it parked for long periods of time EG: several days outside in -30 or colder in windchill condiditons.

These batteries in -15 will perform just like the factory battery.

Its nice to have the choice. It can be annoying sometimes to accidentally activate the ESC when i didn't mean to, especially on corners.

Maybe adjust your WOT switch closer to 100% throttle? I had mine too far in for a while too.

My package just got out of customs this morning. I guess this weekend is not the weekend I get to install it. Hopefully, I get to install it on Monday, but it's going to be raining all week. sigh.

Should've ordered the 1.5 dump batteries together with the other batteries. Now I'm going to have to pay for shipping when I'm ready to order it. I'm cheap haha

OK - so after having high AFR on my tune and hearing all about how California gas is crap, I figured I'd try something. I bought a can of Torco Unleaded Accelerator from Amazon and added ~10oz to a full tank of Shell 91. This should make the tank ~93-94 octane according to the bottle.

On the way home I did some pulls and I'm convinced that this stuff works! While I'm still running pretty lean, it's way better than it was before. Shiv just gave me an adjusted tune and I'm hoping it makes it even better...heading in the right direction!

(Side note: my boost shows 4.21 at maximum...seems high...how accurate is this calculation?)

Before Torco - 2nd Gear Pull

After Torco - 2nd Gear Pull

After Torco - 2nd Gear Pull (with Boost shown)

Eh, 15:1 is still too lean, right? Shouldn't I be somewhere in the 12s?

Your only regret will be that you had to read 4,625 posts.

The ECU (even a tuned ECU) will always seek a stoichiometric air:fuel ratio (AFR) when lightly loaded. The stoichiometric is a value of ~14.8:1 and is considered neither rich or lean. Fuel additives can drive this value lower (because there is less combustible material in the mixture). Running a 14.8 AFR at partial throttle is normal and good for economical operation and component life. Running an AFR below 12.0 while at WOT is desirable to help cool the piston and valves, which also extends component life (or more accurately reduces the chances of catastrophic failure).
