300whp on auto gt86 with a supercharger
Hello guys, I was wondering what I'd need to make 280-300whp on an automatic gt86 (im from europe) with a vortech or other s/c, and what side you can reccomend for it, also what would I need to do to the tranny to hold this power without problems, and will the engine take a dump on me or not?, I was thinking 450cc deathschworks(spelling?) injectors and fuel pump from ft86speedfactory and the tuner kit vortech supercharger, and UEL borla headers and a full exhaust with a resonator,
but would i need a pulley etc?, just wondering, thanks in advance!. |

My choice would be Kraftwerks c38-81 rotrex kit especially since right now they have an awesome deal until the end of month - you could get the kit with black or aluminum blower for $3800 shipped in US. but since you're in europe the shipping I guess would be extra. You could get it from a vendor too, maybe they'd cut you a deal on shipping. I am very happy dealing with @fteightysix, thanks to utekineir who recommended these guys. On c38 it looks like you should be able to get 300whp on regular pulley and you still have an option to go with smaller pulley. Check threads on kraftwerk's kit. You would need pump and injectors I thinks. The tranny will be ok. if I were you I probably would not spend money on exhaust and header until after the kit is installed unless you want the sound as performance wise they don't bring a whole lot for the $ spent. Again check the kraftwerks thread for dynos.

Well, I drive really hard, I dont want tranny to overheat or take a dump on me, also would kraftwerks be reliable and not leak etc, or heat soak too much? I just want performance to be as good if not better than my previous e46 m3, also would i need new spark plugs or do they come with kraftwerks

@Tye300 was able to get 274whp on a dynojet with a Vortech kit (stock pulley) on his AT with 4.556 final drive. 100 RON pump has, Revworks UEL header, full exhaust, stock injectors and pump.

I am running a vortech kit with 3.125" pulley, injectors and a DW65c pump for e85 in the future. You should be in the high 200whp range depending on your tuner. If you go E85, mid 300whp is common I believe
Rotrex would be a good choice as well Also, you can't go wrong with a turbo Hell, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the offerings on the table

They recently released their C38 blower upgrade option and there is a group buy special going on ..I think for your power goals and reliability concerns that would be good option..It seems like they were able to get ~315 with header and tune http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...&postcount=626 also they recently tested this unit with AT so they should be able to answer your questions regarding the power goals and AT http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...&postcount=677

I have a manual, and as far as I know vortech doesn't ship the older blower anymore, and anyone who got a kit with the older blower got the blower swapped out to the new blower. You can try to rotrex units as well, such as the kraftwerks/JR kit.... the power delivery should be very similar and tons of people are running those kits as well. Any reason you wouldn't go with a turbo? A modest turbo kit will provide more low end power than a supercharger, and might be a better choice if you don't want to always rev the nuts off the car to enjoy the peaky SC powerband Also, unless you are getting a good deal I would skip the Borla UEL and go with a revWorks... ft86speedfactory carries that header if you are ordering parts from them

I'm at 264whp on Jackson Racing SC. Stock fueling. When my pump, injectors and new pulley go on I'll be over 300 on 93

Here are some third party results for you to check out:
http://www.onpointdyno.com/?p=3366 "Richard’s 295whp Kraftwerks Supercharged FRS" The first time I got my hands on a Rotrex was when Modified editor, David Pratte brought me a Kraftwerks kit to install in his Civic racecar. I couldn’t believe my eyes when the car made 400whp with that kit. Kraftwerks has done it again with their FR-S kit. From what I saw the materials used in the kit are top level, with beautifully machined and anodized pieces. Because these ECUTek kits have locked tunes, we always recommend clients purchase the “tuner” kit, so that they don’t spend needless money on a tune file we will have to overwrite. It turns out that was the right decision for Richard, as he ended up spending a small amount more than the “tuned” kit would have cost from Kraftwerks, but received custom dyno tuning time specific to his car, his modifications and Canadian fuel and climage. Now as he makes more changes, we have the base map and can continue to work on that tune. The car made great power, and drives wonderfully on the street. The transition from cruise to full throttle is seamless and the car has the perfect amount of power, with factory like response. This is how Toyota should have sold the car! ![]() ![]() ![]()

It definitely is doable. Easier with the smaller 11psi pulley. My tuner tuned my buddy's vortech 86 with pump and injectors and hit 300whp with the stock 9psi pulley.
Here's his post: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1643678
