I usually have my backpack (notebooks, laptop, writing utensils) and it doesn't set it off. Had one of four wheels in the passenger seat and it went off but after awhile it just stopped beeping. It was for a two hour road trip lol

Mine goes off every time I throw my monster drink on the seat, maybe I need to cut back on the caffeine...

Pretty sure it isn't weight. I have a 10-15 pound backpack sitting on it every morning and it never goes off. Soon as I place my iPhone on it by itself ... BEEP BEEP BEEP.

Oddly enough I had it go off the other day when I had my iPhone's cable plugged into the USB port and the excess cable draped over the passenger seat.

Found a post about the detection system.

I actually had something similar happen 3 times, that was the alarm for the passenger air bag off kept going off. There was no one in the car every time. I took it to the dealer they apparently replicated the issue with certain objects sitting on the seat, they blamed Subaru. Anyways, I haven't had this issue for at least 4 months. Who knows I might have it again tomorrow, well that might be the fuel pump again..
