If you are tracking I would start with a good ATF cooler. We use the B&M kits from Summit Racing. Having built several track and road race cars that are Automatics, these coolers are LIFE SAVERS! As for fluid, Redline High Temp ATF is our all time go-to AT Fluid for severe duty. We also have been using the Full Synthetic Motul ATF as well. Both yield very good results across the board in both subie and toyota transmissions. -Mike Paisan ![]() Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Enthusiasts since 2001. Oops, fat fingers. And Amazon.com lists redline D6 as not compatible with a BRZ.
Just some misinformation out there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

@AZP Installs, in one of your other posts, you do not recommend using an AT flush machine.
So it is safer to do 3-4 drain/fills and will it get all the old fluid out? |

3-4 would get a good portion of it out. What we do for our customers is we drain/fill it every 30k miles so it keeps enough fresh fluid in there. The regular service interval is "Inspection" so changing any of it out is better than what's required in the manual. But yeah 3 or 4 drain fills would probably get about 75-80% of it out. I've also seen, but don't condone a method where you disconnect one of the cooler lines and "pump" out the old fluid, and suck in new fluid on the other cooler line. I'm not a fan because it can cause air pockets and/or run the pump dry. -Mike Paisan ![]() Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Enthusiasts since 2001. For fluid, we use the Redline Synthetic or Motul Synthetic to replace whatever garbage the factory put in there and over time that fluid will fully replace the factory stuff. -Mike Paisan ![]() Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Enthusiasts since 2001. Which brings up another question. Do you use Redline high temp or Redline D6.
I ask because the Redline site lists the D6 as equal to the ATF WS from the manual. But the Redline high temp, specifically does not. Another BUT, the specs say it would usable. So many questions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have a Toyota Camry that has 230k on the original tranny fluid, and it still runs like I have had it since day one. |

Savannah is a great town, I stop there when I drive down to my place in Fort Lauderdale! Next year I'll have to shoot you a PM and hit up a subie meet on my way! -Mike Paisan ![]() Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Enthusiasts since 2001.
