Shocked! at the Costco Auto Program price!
I've been resisting stopping by a dealer but I did so today to get an idea on the Costco pricing for a new BRZ. This local Detroit area dealer is on the forum white list and I've shopped them many years ago when I was in the market for a Subie and they have always been excellent to deal with.
I'm not sure whether Costco pricing is based on the market or whether it is consistent across the country but for me, at this specific participating Costco dealer, the Costco price is $750 under invoice on new 2014 BRZ's. They had a leftover 2013 on the lot but for whatever reason 2013's were not included on the list and since I wasn't interested in the Limited model I didn't pursue it's price. The 2014 Premium that I want that they have on the lot includes:
I'm amazed at that no hassle price. Could I do better negotiating? Perhaps, but it's not worth it to me for the amount of aggravation and the time it would take to possibly save another couple of bucks. I'm working out the numbers to see whether I can do the deal now so I can enjoy the car over the summer or whether to wait until September to pull the trigger. I'm hoping it works now because that cheap interest rate is a bonus. Bob |

My mother just bought a CX5 and had looked at the costco price. She ended up paying pretty close to that through a local dealership that was not part of the program. Definitely helps to know their bottom line! I actually bought my 14 brz limited a few months ago for $25,300 so $24,700 for a premium is about right. Wish I had waited a few days and gotten the 0.9% apr, though! But overall, I too was impressed how easy it was to find basically the lowest any dealerships are willing to go without doing a lot of research. Go costco!

I know Pete! Financially it will be no problem waiting until Sept when I turn 59 1/2 and can start tapping my 401k without penalty. But if I buy now I'll want to put at least $10k down because I hate being upside down on loans and that 10k comes out of my emergency stash leaving me that much short until Sept.
OTH, you only go around once and they don't offer nearly free interest very often. Speaking of which for anyone contemplating a leftover 2013 those interest rates are now at 0%. I'll make my decision by the end of the weekend. |

go in with Costco and see if anyone will beat it, because in the end if they don't, you still get a car at a good price with them

Does anyone know if the Subaru VIP program is working for the BRZ? Another haggle free set price. It was 2% under invoice when I checked some time ago.

These prices on BRZs are making me sad. I wanted a BRZ last year and I couldn't find one that didn't have at least a $3000 markup so I ended up with a FR-S since at least they had the Pure Pricing. But now you can buy a BRZ Limited for what I paid for my FR-S...

Has anyone used the Sam's Club auto buying service? It's also supposed to be a haggle-free set price, but I don't have any experience with them.

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8311 If you're on the westcoast, you might want to talk to HeubergerMotors. They always sell under invoice: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=55 I've found at least 3 people on the forum who bought a BRZ limited for under invoice (25.300-26,450) in my local area. |
