Jen,

You're just digging a deeper hole for yourself everytime you criticize the 86. Congrats ... you bought a Camaro and will wait for the crickets to die before getting an 86. Instead of defending yourself .... continue to "educate" yourself on this forum by reading instead of being overly critical and defensive. Just some helpful advice.

She's must not, because the chirps are common to all DI hpfp's. Some are dampened by sound deadening, though. Ours aren't.

The clicks & chirps are normal healthy sounds of this engine. It has its own healthy sounds which are different in some ways from other cars.

On phone I am. Therefore, if mistakes I make, Frank Oz blame you should.

That having been said, it looks absolutely fantastic, and if someone buys a Camaro after deciding it's the right car for them, I'll be the first to congratulate them on their new car. Not everyone has to have the same priorities in a car.
Just put 80 miles on it. The car is a load of fun. Keep in mind, I'm coming from a Prius!! Anything manual would be fun. It does move though. I'm not trying to push it too hard, but if you shift a little higher, like 4k, it chirps the tires and gets going.

Cars I currently own:
1998 XJ8 Jaguar
1986 Corvette
1986 Porsche 944
1978 Trans Am (track car)
1987 Grand National
2010 Challenger R/T
2014 Camaro

Husband's cars- 1998 Jeep and 1972 Roadrunner
Our comnuter cars- two Priuses, 2007 and 2008, 322k and 90k miles.

I don't think any of these are like the FRS. I am looking to sell the Vette, Trans Am, and Grand National. I'm done with having projects. My husband wants to keep the Porsche.

I read that you had a Lancaster gathering. If any of you guys meet up and can show me what these cars sound like, ones that sound the way they are supposed to, that would be great. You could even see that I exist and am real. It's a good enough possibility that I don't know what this car should sound like,

Other cars I have owned and sold:
Bronco, '80's XJ5 Jeep (lifted huge tires etc), '86 Camaro, '87 Trans Am, '75 Nova, '87 Acura Legend. I think that's it. I like cars.

Jen, you have to realize what this entire thread has turned into.

For someone who has owned numerous cars, to not do more research of a really well documented and discussed issue prior to even creating an account is a little suspicious.

Then to make an account and post praise about the car, and then not purchase the car because of that well documented issue only further feeds suspicion.

The crickets are just the nature of the beast. Enjoy your slant 6 camaro.

It's turned into a lot of people who gave me some great advice, some asshats, and an education about what you guys think is normal about this car that I may not be okay with. Suspicious. Wow. Because all I have time to do in my life is to go on a FRS forum to troll. I was out to buy a car. I bought a car. I thought this was it. After further research on here and on YouTube, this was not the car for me at the moment. I am happy that you guys like your cars. I am just not comfortable with it.

Hopefully someone looking to buy this car can read this thread and read some of the great advice that you guys have taken the time to post and not be turned off by some of your more obnoxious members.

Don't worry about it Jen, you like the FRS and you like the Camaro you just bought. I think guys and gals tend to just think differently about things so it's sort of a miscommunication in a way. Don't ask me to dwell on that statement, heh.

I'm more curious of how you'd compare the FRS to the 944.

The best thing about the 944 is how it handles. It doesn't have a lot of horsepower but it is great through the turns, just like the FRS. That's why I liked the FRS. I would get a Porsche but once again, reliability. I have sunk a lot of cash into the Porsche and still need to fix some electrical problems. I'm just sick of putting money into projects so I have been looking at newer cars. I was okay with projects for about ten years, you reach a tipping point though.

DANG ...... folks, what do you say we let her go ......

@Jen, enjoy your new car!

Maybe, if you keep on riding that MC with no mufflers, your hearing will become as bad as mine ..... and you won't be able to "hear" the sounds of the FR-S engine ..... and reconsider ......

For me the real turn off was when you told us we should open up a class action lawsuit regarding the 'issues' you found. That was rubbing salt in the wound of already implying we had all made a mistake in buying our car.

Have you ever listened to or driven any other Subarus?!
