I would only go with OEM STI caliper bolts personally, but a quality Grade 8 bolt would be an okay replacement. Perhaps a search on NASIOC or some Subaru parts sites will net you the length, thread size, and thread pitch.

Damn those look amazing. I would have loved that look much more than my black STI decaled calipers.

I used the BRZ stainless lines and you will find that the banjo on the back of the caliper won't line up with the tabs meant to hold it in place. I just found a good position for it to fit and tightened down the banjo bolt with no issues in over 20,000 miles. I used the OEM bleeders that came in my STI calipers. The 05 calipers are the exact same as the 04 calipers. The only difference in the rotors is the 04s are 5x100 and the 05s are 5x114.

Looking great @Figo, glad to see the setup done!
Always used Grade 8 or 10 belts from the hardware store/McMaster-Carr. |

Thanks. I've actually found the part number for brand new OEM mounting bolts, and they're only a few bucks each so I'll get those instead of looking in hardware stores. I've also read its prudent to smear some copper anti seize on the mounting bolts....apparently they're prone to seizing.
@King Tut I have to say I was "inspired" to take up this mod after seeing pics of your brake swap months ago

If one were to run STI Brembo fronts and OEM rear would it be ideal to run the same compound pad on front and rear still? For instance, if one were to run a CarboTech XP10 in front would it then be ideal to run an XP8 pad in the rear? Or would you want to run the same pad all on all 4 corners? |

Ok so I need some clarification on brembos. Do 08+ fronts fit on the factory rotors or do they need new rotors as well?

you'll need new rotors.
most people have been getting DBA 4000 T3 series rotors (dual-drilled version) with their swaps.

This is the simplest recipe for a Brembo Twin: 08+ STI Brembo calipers 2004 STI front rotors 2008+ STI rear rotors drilled for 5x100 Caliper sets can be found on IWSTI and NASIOC if you're fast. Adam's Rotors can put together a custom set for a good price, and DBA makes dual-drilled rotors. |

I dunno why I thought in 08 the rotors dropped back down to the wrx size. Anyway I just got stoptech rotors like a month ago so it looks like I will be going with 4 pots...
