I installed the rear sti brembo with dba 4000 today.
The front was installed 2 weeks ago.

I did not cut or modify the front dust shields. They just wont contact with rotor. So the front 08 sti caliper and DBA 4000 rotor are just bolt on.

For the rear dash shields, I did cut them.

Dual-drilled 08 Sti Rotor will fit.

Just make sure they have the -10 at the end to let you know they are dual drilled.

Hi guys, need some advice. I chanced upon a guy selling a set of front Brembo calipers + rotors from a 2005 STI (I understand that the rotors from an 05 won't fit and I'll be getting a new pair of 2004 rotors). But what I'd like to know is:

a) will the calipers fit under my Rota Titan's (17x8 +42)?

b) when refitting new bleeders in place of the allen head bolt (assuming I manage to get it out) do I need to use any thread locker or sealant?

c) seller is including his Stoptech SS brake lines. Can I use them or should I get new SS lines suited to the FRS?

a) Check NASIOC - they had a fitment thread for STI that's been closed for a few years, but should have pertinent information.

b) Bleeders do not generally need thread locker or sealant (in my experience anyway) as you need to undo them to bleed the brakes - they're also only torqued to ~13in-lbs.

c) You want lines that are the correct length and orientation for our application. The lines on our car mount to the strut in the opposite orientation from the Impreza - this will cause issues if you use Impreza lines. The length is acceptable, it's just where it mounts to the strut causes a routing/kinking issue.

A) A clever trick I saw from someone else was to search for 2004 STI wheel fitment since they're Brembos with 5x100. I searched Wheeldude.com for the Titan's under the 2004 STI and only saw 17x9 +42. I would think that the offset isn't high enough to clear nor the wheel design extreme enough to clear.

B) Someone else can chime in.

C) You'll want ones that fit the Twins. Stock ones should be fine.

Edit:

Tried your tip....but no luck. Best I could find was 17x8 +42 in the TC105N wheel, but since mine is the knockoff version (Rota Titan ) I don't know for sure. See here: http://istargazer.ca/sti/weds/sti-weds-tc105n.htm

By the way, where can i get new caliper mounting bolts? Is it ok to just use similar size/length/pitch purchased from hardware store?

Thanks. Could you take a couple of shots showing the back of the caliper where the banjo connects. Which bleeders and stainless lines did you get?

By the way.....just wanted to make sure that 05 calipers are the same as 04 yes? Just the rotors are different....?

a). Sounds like you're definitely going to need to run spacers with that offset. Stocks (17x7 +48) will fit under these calipers with at least a 15-20mm spacer.

b). shouldn't need to.

c). I'd take them anyway just cause. I myself purchased new Stoptech lines, brand new caliper bolts from Oakos Automotive (http://www.oakos.com/Merchant2/merch...ory_Code=12900 or even your local Subaru dealer can order them for you, and I also did a seal rebuild just because I had everything off the car already.
