I can't believe how much damage there was! Didn't the guy backing up feel or hear anything? Wow. I'm so sorry this happened. My car got backed into right in front of me. Needless to say I was crushed. I had a Toyota dealer fix the damage. They did a perfect job. Thank god the frame wasn't impacted but still...

The shop is totally responsible to make things right.

Just seeing this thread is bringing on a headache. Damn

First things first. That F truck parked next to you... I can't believe people in America actually drive those as a daily. Jesus they look like such road hazards. I mean I can understand the need to have an SUV or something like a Toyota Hilux, but those giant trucks are just F'in ridiculous. Unless your job involves towing boats every day or pulling trees out of the ground, you don't need to drive a car like that. I'm just thankful that Australians can't import those things without paying 100k+.

Secondly If I were you I'd talk to the insurance agency and tell them that the repair job was unsatisfactory. If the front bumper isn't lining up properly then the car isn't fixed. If they're uncooperative then tell them you'll post the pictures on their social media account and spread it across all the car forums. It's not blackmail or extortion. You have a right to tell people truthfully about your customer experience with them. They'll likely see that it's much cheaper to fix your car properly or replace it than deal witht eh negative PR.

That sort of thing would bother me to no end. The car will never be the same again. If insurance don't pay for it to be fixed, I'd just sell it and buy a new one.

Pretty sure the truck in the pic is the one who hit him. his rear bumper is the exact same height as the damage on his car.

Thanks for the support. I'm currently complaining to the body shop. If they refuse to resolve I'll escalate to the insurance company.

Still waiting for the refund from the deductible; I guess the other company is still trying to figure out liability. I don't get it, he hit a parked vehicle, I think liability is pretty straight forward.

Anyway, enough of my complaining. Thanks for the sympathy and the guidance. Drive (and park) safe out there.

Get it fixed as best as you can. Sell it with honesty about what has happened, obviously. Someone will want it. Buy a new FRS/BRZ. Your car will never be the same. I would get rid of it ASAP. Frame damage is no good my man.

I wonder if that truck has a rear camera? If so then he/she must be blind not seeing the screen showing the back end of the truck.

He caught it on the rocker panel of the cab. I'm not really sure how, but it left a good sized dent in his truck.
