Got the car on a rack (homemade rack with "turn plates" and fully leveled). Found adding "driver" weight did not provide a measurable difference, so I am aligning without surrogate driver weight. I played with strut mount and upper and lower clevis attachment points to max out camber as much as possible. I was able to get 1.35 degrees on the driver side, but still only 0.8 degrees on the passenger side. I'll take another crack at it this evening maybe the lower still has some play. Still scratching my head why the passenger side is incapable of that last .5 degree.

I was thinking maybe slop in the control arm attachment, but subframe alignment would have the same affect. Those are typically pinned very precisely from the factory though... regardless I'm going to call that out of scope of my alignment, because I'm not going to attempt to shift my whole subframe/engine cradle to get 0.5 degrees of camber.

The TX Prosolo is next for me. Is the FBRSZ good enough to take down a 370Z at a pro?
I'm going to double enter at a local event this weekend with a guy that has a 2012 370Z on RE11's to get a direct comparison between the cars.

Please keep us posted on what you find out....my initial impression is a 370Z would have a pretty big advantage on most Pro Solo courses.

Yesterday's course was pretty tight and slow for the most part. No rev limiting anywhere, and a really slow kinked initial slalom. The car really didn't feel like it was biting at all, but it generally understeers too much on anything slower than 40MPH. I ran 37F/34R pressures and 1.5 turns from stiff up front, 1 turn from soft rear. I definitely missed the nice balance and grip that was available on the concrete of the national tour site.

Now, for the bad news. I figured a slower, tighter course would benefit the BRZ compared to bigger cars. I threw down as fast a time as I could in my car after 5 runs - 36.3. It took me all 5 runs to get that time. I drove a CS prepped 370Z in the following heat. The car has koni's, swaybar, and RE11's, so it's pretty much fully prepped.
On my first run out, I was faster in the Z. 36.0. By the 3rd run, I was already down to 35.6 with the car owner in the passenger seat. By the 5th run, I was down to 35.5. The Z felt better in nearly every way. The one way it did not feel better was the brakes. Constant brake lockup and ABS activation. He had HP+ on the car, and it seems they have too much front bite. Nonetheless, the Z was significantly faster on a tight, slow, short course with very little acclimation time. Equating to 60 seconds, it would have been @1.3 seconds faster. I can only imagine how bad it would be on an open course. BOO!

I often find on tighter courses, cars with a little more Hp tend to be able to get out of corners faster and thus have better times. In low Hp cars I have done better on momentum courses where there are few tight low speed corners, but more sweeping type corners that require less speed reduction. THe more a course flows the better the low Hp cars seem to do.

Get a look at my video and see where this course falls. I feel like it's a really slow speed maintenance type course.
