My only regret is not waiting for the 2014 model with the bugs worked out, the 2012 builds have issued that the dealers don't want to fix (a simple ECU flash).

I almost did that because I didn't know how to drive a manual at the time. I test drove a auto and bought a manual. My friend drove it off the lot for me lol!

I'm not the best driver when it comes to manual, but I was comfortable enough to own one at the time. However, I bought my car used and they gave me a deal I couldn't refuse. On the bright side, I'll be moving back to Hawaii (ranked 2nd in the U.S. for worst traffic) and I will be happy not having to shift my own gears during rush hour lol.

I should have just paid for the fully loaded BRZ. No 10s or monograms at the time.

low hp, high revs, ......slippery tires, with excellent car balance and poise....means pretty much everywhere is fun
But part of this car's greatness is no mods are necessary to have a day at the track

Sometimes I regret and sometimes I don't... *sighs*

I regret that I passed up on opportunities to own something crazier in the price range of the FRS. I could've gotten a mk4 Supra turbo, Rx7 v8, e46 m3, nsx, c6 corvette, or soop the hell outta my mr2 to like 700+HP. I think about this all the time and it makes me really regretful that I'm stuck with a 165whp Scion.

On the flipside, I am happy to have the FRS as it's fresh and it was my first new car purchase ever. There's something about being handed the keys with 16kms on the odometer that feels good; knowing that you, and only you, are the one who's got first ownership of the car. And being as this is a sports car, it feels good knowing that it is brand new and not some used car that was ragged on by it's previous owners. No history, no mystery

I am planning on keeping this beauty forever though. Seeing as I would lose over $10,000 if I were to sell it, I think it would be dumb to get rid of the car.

I have a love/hate relationship with the FRS. Some days I love it, some days I wonder why I even have the car as my mr2 is actually more fun than the FRS.

But truth be told, I needed a new car and if I was going to be buying new, it had to be something special. Not some box with wheels. It was a no-brainer to get the FRS.

The thought of purchasing something else does haunt me from time to time... Like a tricked out v8 '97 240sx modified to the tilt for less than the price of the FRS. But then again, I'm just left with somebody else's mystery.

Good thread!

No regrets. I sold my Tacoma for the FRS, bought a cheap '94 4runner for my "off road" needs and haven't looked back. The only thing...I hate that scion keeps making new models (series 10, monogram and now the 1.0 that I keep hearing about). I guess with that being said, the price for all the extras isn't really worth it. With the extras Ive put in to my FRS it probably still costs less than a "special series" model. Now, does anyone have any regrets from buying their cars?

I've recently gotten interested in off roading and yesterday I tried out a Toyota FJ, which is amazing.

Problem is our cars drop value like Aladdin tied to that rock and thrown into the sea (without a genie to bring is back up). So if I traded it in I would still owe 1000k. The Fj is 31000k with all the off road goodies.

So my payment would go from 300-550 xD. I can afford this, but I got student loans coming in soon which are gonna kill me. So just wanted to get some opinions. Anyone regret getting this car instead of something else?
Nope, not for a second. I didn't buy it for it potential resale value, or to bitch about what it isn't, or the woulda/coulda/shoulda-be 'tard-fest. I have one because I am fortunate that I can, and it's a blast just as it came from the factory.

Nope, no regrets. I love this car. I've only done a few mild mods and not going to go much further. Previously I was commuting either by bus or in my 15mpg Xterra. Now I grin every day even just driving on the highway and when I get a bit of open twisty road and can push her a little, I almost giggle like a schoolgirl. She's so sexy that I love to see her every time I go outside. She's also the first car I've had that I enjoy washing, working on, and monkeying around with. Yes, she's got a few little issues (crickets, condensation, rust on the window pillars), kinda like a high maintenance supermodel.

I kept the Xterra though for hauling stuff around, outdoor adventures, and some mild offroading (it's 2WD, but surprisingly capable).

Yes, there's a trick that I figured out to stop that. When you start to get out, put one leg against the bottom door sill. Leave it touching there as you get out. 99% of the time, no shocks!

I only regret the fact that the shop that tinted my windows f'd up my bumper because they did not know how to put the car in reverse.

At least they fixed it.
