Any regrets?

Hey peeps,

Before you all gang up on me let me say I love my fr-s.

Now, does anyone have any regrets from buying their cars?

I've recently gotten interested in off roading and yesterday I tried out a Toyota FJ, which is amazing.

Problem is our cars drop value like Aladdin tied to that rock and thrown into the sea (without a genie to bring is back up). So if I traded it in I would still owe 1000k. The Fj is 31000k with all the off road goodies.

So my payment would go from 300-550 xD. I can afford this, but I got student loans coming in soon which are gonna kill me. So just wanted to get some opinions. Anyone regret getting this car instead of something else?

Nope. Quite happy with this car.... It helps me pick up girls. :bellyroll:

The real question is do you really NEED an FJ? I would pay off the student loans and then put the rest of the money onto a house/rainy day savings.

Honestly only thing I regret is the color, I wanted and should have waited for a whiteout but I was impatient. Ended up with Raven which is a B$#%h to keep scratch free! Wouldn't mind a monogram and wish it was offered at the time!

No regrets here, apart from possibly not waiting for Monogram series.

Sometimes I think about "what if" I had bought a WRX or better yet waited and bought the new 2015 WRX. However, it's probably only me being nostalgic over my 2003 WRX that I built to the hilt. If I were to drive the new WRX and my FR-S side by side, I'm sure I wouldn't think twice on which to choose.

Now... I do regret Scion being stupid and not offering Monogram edition as the standard when first released.....

White0utFrs 04-10-2014 04:34 PM

Haha thanks guy. Yeah I actually wanted firestorm but it looked glossy on the web and when I saw it it was flat so I'm like.... That one! (Also hate to wait). And got my whiteout. Can't go wrong with a white car.

As for the monogram I don't feel bad about not getting that. Recently met a guy who just bought one out the door for 31k (jikes) I got mine for 24k out the door brand new. So I'm okay without nice lights and heated seats lol.

Just feels with somethjng like an Fj I can go anywhere and still not get arrested lol and unless we track these cars there is little we can do without getting the car impounded for unsafe driving lol. Fj is a beast, but the frs puts a smile on my face every time I turn. Just sexy 😉.

N1: haha no I don't need it. And yeah those loans will be with me for many many many years to come. 75k in loans lol so yeah I think imma keep Lilly (yes I named my car), and get a beater jeep for 1k to take it off roading.

DarkSunrise 04-10-2014 04:36 PM

Why not get a used FJ or jeep? From what I hear about off-roading, you don't want to start with a brand-new car anyway.

EDIT: just saw your last post, I think that's the way to go.

Dpforlife 04-10-2014 04:42 PM

I actually was at the dealer today and saw a white monogram, I would love the seats and push button start but for $30,995 nah not worth it. Look into a used FJ, probably would be better off that way

I should probably name my car too LOL

supramkivtt2jz 04-10-2014 04:44 PM

negative - no regrets

White0utFrs 04-10-2014 04:48 PM

Dark: yeah I just wanted an Fj lol friends went off roading last week and went thru this pass with fried branches. Their trucks look as if Freddy sanded down the claws and ran them allllll thru the sides. I'm talking from top to bottom. I saw the videos and from the inside of the car is sounds as if someone was running chalk against a board. I would have cried if that had been my car.

Dp: yeah I wish I had the push to start and the button setup of the mono with the switches rather than the 3 knobs. But paying 7k more for all that is like baffling lol

N1: yes! Do it. Be cool like me. The Fj was gonna be named Lilly the second snide it was gonna be white as well

White0utFrs 04-10-2014 04:50 PM

Any regrets?

Gt: don't you think the 2015 wrx looks like a corolla from the back? I never thought about an fr-s/ brz and was actually looking at 2014 wrx when it caught my eye and bam! Within 5 hours I had an fr-s (only reason I didn't get a brz was the people at Subaru didn't even try to help me lol, and scion had rebates and low apr 😁).

BroDoYouEvenDrift 04-10-2014 04:50 PM

Ehh.. monogram would be nice but for over 30k at that point I'd rather be driving an EVO X or if I could have waited, a 2015 Mustang GT.

I'm quite happy with my FR-S. I just gotta work on adding a little more oomph. It's got great looks and sublime steering and handling.. now it just needs the final piece of the puzzle. Power.
