@rowbright has the right idea, there's clearly something above in the part of the contract you didn't show like residual financing from your trade or you agreed to "new tires" or soemthing the finance company doesn't cover and they put it in the base price instead.

It never ceases to amaze me that people will research the performance of a car to death but not take a few minutes to find out what "additional coverage" they should add if any, what a good used price is, etc. There's numerous threads here about cancelling coverage, search them out. There is certainly a phone number on your service contract, you can look into cancelling, just make sure the bank adjusts the finance amount, if the coverage company sends you a check SEND IT TO THE LOAN COMPANY, or you'll be more upside down.

File this experience away for next time and just go on enjoying the car...next time don't let them rush you...read everything, double check the numbers, etc. I think sometimes people believe once they are with the F&I person that the "sales" part is done and they are "safe" but they earn their commission too.

Hard to know what all that stuff is without an explanation (service agreement?), but it seems like you could've gotten a brand new FR-S for about the same price.

Its a weird thing to be talking to someone who seems so nice, but having to know underneath he is kind of being an evil piece of shit.

It really weirded me out hearing a seemingly nice guy take a shot at ripping me off EVERY chance he got. Recommending all kinds of useless upgrades alarms protection plans lojack etc...

Essentially lying to my face so he can make money..

Buying a car is really weird as a human. These guys are pure pieces of trash who make money the more they rip you off.

Its sucks I like to really try hard to look at everyone as decent, but car salesmen. I cannot account for how someone could choose to be that much of a piece of crap to another human.

It cant be a happy experience where you will feel a fair exchange can take place. They are trying to rip you off plain and simple. Its sad, but I will from now on not even attempt to treat anyone in a dealership as a fellow human.

But rather a weird sociopath willing to lie to you about anything to make an extra buck. Or pull something past you while they mumble and hope you dont notice.

Such a disgusting experience.

If you have to come to the interwebs and ask a bunch of car nuts if you got ripped off....you did.

Lesson here: Read what you are signing. Ask questions before you sign, not after.

There's nothing wrong with the contract. You got a "extended warranty" probably a life time power train warranty. Or 5 year bumper to bumper. ECT. You could have saved 1500$ off of what it's worth. And not opted for warranty. And not pay dealer fee.

You need to be as informed as possible when you go into these places. They do this every day. Most people don't like negotiating. I'm a lawyer. I no longer practice, but car dealers hate me. They think they have the upper hand and in a little while they realize that this won't be as easy as normal and they agree to things that they normally never would.
If you do this again, go through the internet sales dealer, don't even go to the dealer until you have everything in writing, with firm numbers. This is the easiest way to buy a car with the least chance of getting ripped off. They can't apply pressure as well and usually don't even try over email.

Been doing it that way for years. I never go to the dealership until its time to pick up the vehicle. And I actually had the dealership deliver 2 of the last 3, so I never went to the dealership at all for those 2.

Before the internet, I bought all my vehicles over the phone.

That's how to do it. They can't do the normal BS. So much easier.

Op, I sort of had a similar issue. My car had 15k miles, internet price was 21,300. But it wasn't certified and if I did want it certified by Toyota it was going to increase price by $1,500. I opted to have it pre-owned certified to qualify for the low interest rate on cpo vehicles and well I like knowing I have powertrain warranty for 7years/100k.

Is your car cpo?
