I've attended as a club member so there were only 4-5 cars at most but the organization was very good...
but other than that it all depends on which racing school/organization you are going with

Open track, so we had more than enough seat time for whole day

Just had ORP reach out to me this morning. Told them we were still decided if we wanted to do this still. Soo bump!

If we can hit around 300 count me in it doesn't seem like we have a ton of interest maybe @DarrenDriven can shoot a text out to all the local 86ers and find out if more would like to join in

I think one thing to consider here is that a lot of our nembers are not track drivers but would still love to be there. We should consider two levels of commitment if we really are going to rent ORP for a day. We should have a track usage admission and a seperate spectator/bbq admission. We could all meet up in PDX and enjoy a drive out to the dalles area to ORP as a group and then then the racers would race and people who just want to relax and particpate by watching/video/photos would still be included. This could generate additional funding towards track rental that otherwise would go un used.

Could do like $40 (arbitrary number used) for a spectator/meet fee? If we had 20 extra people participate it would offset the fees for the drivers.

This would also really help with producing some fotage and photos for anytype of media that we want to produce. Eitherway its a great way to get others involved that otherwise would be left out that may want to see what all the fuss is about.

Good idea ilpad or stfu oldman?

Lol Warrenton had corrupted you! But I like your idea. But where would the food come from? The only thing I could think of would be like 10 costco pizzas but contribution would be cool. Or I guess donations work as well. But as of now. With just the people that had liked the orignal post. It doesn't seem like this will happen.

Unfortunately, I suspect the only way this works is to throw out a wider net. Even the bigger clubs (BMW, PCA, etc...) let anyone drive to fill a track day, and that's even at the closer locales

I'm down to chill and watch... don't really have any interest in $300 for a day on the track. My car would melt down, prolly, haha!

I try to limit the text alerts to actual planned events... not as a feeler. I have to manually send out every text (10 minutes), and about 1/4 of ppl reply so I am swamped for an hour afterwards.

I agree. Have the mega meet there, charge an admission price ($20?), have free prizes (I have so cheap stuff to give away), free food (maybe a token to get one meal like a hamburger and chips). Have an autocross portion for those that don't like track time (there are a lot out there), and also have a track day portion. Fees for both track and autocross. Call up venders and have them sponser/allow vender booths. We could turn this into the real deal and get media coverage if it got big enough! Am I going overboard?

As much as I would love to make that a reality. Adding vendors would be an extra cost. I have still have yet seen anybody truly interested as just a spectator as well.

This would take much more than a few months to plan...if you wanted to go all out and have a real "Mega Meet" like that it could take a year to plan. The idea is good but just isn't reachable in limited time
