I wonder if my FRS that is scheduled for delivery at port next week will have the new bolts and suspension update? I guess 0 chance right? #wishfulthinking

I would probably say, just to be safe, that the chances are quite a bit less than zero.

Looks like they are adding the Lexus slushboxes into the AT with the Sports Direct Shift, very interesting that it is a six speed and not the eight speed.

Pretty sure we already had that from Day 1.

2015 FR-S Start of Production - May 7, 2014

It is the same code as the '15 WRX white. I'm excited they went to a more pure white. I think Halo would be a good name for the new white.

would be nice if the 'tweaked' shocks were a 0.5" drop with new springs and shocks and valving to match... then i wouldn't have to bother with aftermarket suspension...

ha ha yeah, here's hoping.

So basically, nothing to write home about for those with aftermarket suspensions and a Beatsonic sharkfin? Huh. I was expecting some major change, now we get a 2014 with better bolts and suspension tweaks that won't even affect those with aftermarket parts anyway.

Nice to know my 2013 still isn't obsolete and that it won't split the market for aftermarket parts

I kinda like that they're not adding lots of new features (although there are issues that need fixing), because it creates continuity within the community, and keeps our resale values a bit higher.

It's the same wheel the Toyota version has had from 2012.

I'll be curious to see what gets mentioned (if anything) about repairs / revisions (chirps, rattles, etc.). I see a win win for me, looking to buy one in about 3 months (i have an injury to heal up, and don't want to buy one to just stare at it.), and that is a 2015 with minor changes that are hopefully meaningful (for reasonable, aka, minimal price change) , or worst case, haggle room / lower price on the 2014

I prefer the Beatsonic design over that stock fin.

Years ago, everyone demanded that Mazda build a stripped down miata, so they finally relented and released the Club Sport.... and nobody bought one. I don't remember if the S2000 CR fared much better overall, althought I remember at least one person on s2ki selling theirs to go back to a regular s2k.

Even if Toyota offered an RC model as a special order, it seems doubtful many people would pay full price for a special order vehicle rather than just take a discount on something the dealer is trying to move off the lot...

I can totally see them doing that...
I wouldn't be surprised if it became a $250 dealer option.
