San Diego + BRZ asking for theft?

I have lived all over San Diego, and live in North Park now. If you choose to live there (it's a great and up and coming area), and park in a gated parking structure for $35 a month. I live a few blocks away but I gave the only parking spot at our place to my wife's Mini (which I am sad to say is faster than my BRZ).

I have lived in Mission Valley, I would suggest to stay away. Lot's of out of towners flock there (malls and chains, traffic....river bums) and where I lived experienced it's fair share of crime for the rent I paid.

I was in a similar position to you and I worked in Poway but lived in UTC. That could be a nice option for you since the highway is a straight shot and quick drive to Poway. The only issue there is high rent and lots of students... and no offense but lot's of asian students who aren't known to have Senna-like driving skill.... I have been hit by the horrendous Asian women drivers before and always have my head on a swivel in that area.

Overall I wouldn't be worried, I have seen BRZ's parked outside in all of those locations but as a general suggestion, avoid mission valley at all costs.
