Just wanted to confirm that you will throw a CEL with the Unichip.. Its a greatunit for fuel economy maps & throttle response, but thats about where it ends..for me personally anyways..
I'd love to see you there! Thanks on the unichip tip.

Every set of spring where I took off stocks and installed aftermarket I left my spring compressors in the tool box. These springs were not bad at all, granted I was wearing gloves and only had one piss me off but nothing bad with any of them. The fronts are a little more... powerful when removing but Spring Compressors are cheap or you can borrow mine if you're down here.

Haha thats funny, I was at the game and I thought I was in Canada. They all sang the Canadian National Anthem, and even yelled "true north" in the middle. I was wearing my Sharks jersey hoping Coyotes can pull out a wild card spot and have a SJ PHX series

For the record I took a car in today to the dealer with a drop in filter, ecutek tune using e85 and crawford manifold spacers. I just told the service adviser the ECU was not stock and that they can skip checking it during normal service checks. There was no issue, and typically I have seen dealers just overlook things and focus on what you actually came in for. I have yet ot have a problem at a scion/toyota dealer.

And as for locked tunes most tuners dont want to modify other tuners tunes... So unless you plan on modifying it your self most people dont really need them unlocked. But thats a whole different debate. Most tuners just lock them to protect people from tampering.

Also afaik local dealers have absolutely no ways to verify if someone has ecutek, only corporate does. You can download techstream and verify your self as that is how they interact with the ecu. Only brzedit would throw a red flag as it disables OBD communications.

And on my tune vs OTS in the OFT thread mine consistently showed the same WHP on each pull vs OTS maps changing due to fuel trims changing, as the OTS maps need time to learn. I just posted the dyno that was closest to target AFR with a 0% fuel trim applied (fresh flash) to get the highest OTS plot possible for people to reference. As long as your parts match 100% what the OTS was designed for I would imagine after miles are put down you should match up with the advertised gains just fine. But if your fuel trims are pulling the AFR thats a different story.

I imagine the borla header matches up with the OFH pretty close tune wise. But I haven't done any testing with an OFH my self so I can't verify.

I just read that someone with an OFT can clear a CEL on my car. Can someone comment on that? Might I not need to get a tune yet?

Keep in mind I don't care about increasing performance at this moment. I just want to get rid of the CEL from using uncatted headers.

To anyone in the Phoenix area:

I receive a reduced price for anything Amsoil related (~15-20%). I am extending this savings to you guys (you still have to pay shipping though =P). Let me know if you want anything for our twins and I can price it out. If we get a huge group buy everyone can pitch in a dollar for shipping and then we would really save.

Also, one of these days I am going to make it to a meet! Hahaha, free time is lacking these days but soon I'll make it out there.

We can always try. I know you can't load a tune unless the OFT is unmarried, but from what I recall, datalogging isn't an issue. Let me know if you want to meet up and verify sometime.

Thanks! Long term, I'll get an OFT, but while I wait I want to get rid of the CEL. I've been reading up on OFT all morning.

Now that the InTec Tails are on, I am selling my factory tail lights.

Figure best place to start is local, so first local $150 takes the pair, anyone outside of Phoenix Valley area they are $200 shipped (but if you come and get them the $150 price gets them......next Friday they go up in the classified and will be more $$$
