Everyone that is talking about leaks, you should know that after a few heat cycles you should retighten all the bolts as the tend to loosen as the header contracts and expands. Also try some RTV. Finally check the gaskets and the flange to make sure they are pretty flat. I am going to go back to the OEM gasket as they are still leaking after tightening them again, but this time with some RTV sealant!
Headers are a pretty common place for leaks, it just takes a bit more effort but it isn't too difficult. |

Ugh you should never have to use something like RTV...
I would agree this motor seems to have a lot of header fitment issues but that's soley on the people producing the headers... The P&L header I have needed to have the part that connects to the overpipe modified because it would cause the overpipe to hit the frame. They replaced or modified everyone's pipes and now no issues. The flanges on my P&L are perfect though, I could probably torque them to 5ft-lbs and they wouldn't leak. |

No leaks so far with the double gaskets, not sure which way they are oriented. One set is grimmspeed, the other subaru. Not a perfect install but i am very happy with the performance and sound. I would love for the flanges to meet up flush but maybe thats unrealistic for welded parts that can move during fabrication. That being said, I would buy this header again.

Anyone else had a chance to dyno and or get a tune yet?
I've been tied up on my 2nd gen 4runner project but that motor is torn down now and headed to the machine shop today so I may have a couple weeks of wait time on my hands now....

![]() I was able to remove the grey clip from the bracket and take off the two small clips from the side with a flat head. Can't remove the damn grey clip. What's the trick to this? |

Um the 02 plugs?
leave them connected to the bracket and it is either a puch down on the tab and pull off or a pull up on the tab and pull off. the main plug on the harness side should stay connected to the bracket though. |

No leaks from the header flange, my ears need to be checked
It was the Overpipe-Frontpipe Gasket Also applied Gold Reflective tape under the TRD Intake. No april fools joke about that part. Use protection!

Another quick question.
What will make my go by smoother? Putting on the headers or op/fp first? Thanks. |
