I'm not sure to what extent the ecu is doing after reflash but the car feels sluggish after every reflash, but feels fine after 80 or so miles. The logs also shows very rich afr at wot during this learning time.

Edit: just for shitz and grinds. Try running your logs in virtual dyno right after reflash with those after 80+miles. Only seems logical..since if you reset a ecu because of a cel. It'll return only after the ecu relearn and can determined that there's an issue

Sry for double post but my point is that it makes it hard to tune if you are not absolutely sure that the ecu is running at optimal efficiency with the new changes/tweaks

that sounds like you either took off before the exhaust cam turned on (unlikely), or that your fueling calibration is wrong and is requiring a trim in open loop to lean it back out. if that's the case, just make sure that everything is scaled properly and trims are minimal (i.e. <2%), and turn them off in open loop.

by ensuring that there are no trims operating in open loop and initial IAM is set to 1.. you should be able to flash the car, wait 30 seconds or so max for the exhaust cam to turn on, and go do power pulls. the throttle learning may need to take place but that won't effect a WOT pull.

Will give that a shot. If all goes well then I'll be much happier with the oft

After you flash your ecu, make sure you start the engine and let it idle for a minute until the revs drop to ~800rpm. Then you can start driving. If you start driving right away, you will be in a low power mode that disables VVT. The car will drive ok but will feel very anemic. You can confirm this condition by plugging in the OFT, going to the realtime data screen and looking at VVT intake and VVT exhaust values. One or both of them will be 0.

Just received tablet today . Flashed 1.42 stage one map at lunch and feels good so far. I noticed those maps seen to be static since December. Would you recommending flashing beta tunes? I have stock 2014 FR-S with drop-in filter. Waiting patiently for open flash header to arrive.

New OFT user here. I feel like I'm getting conflicting stories about eh E85 EL tune. Can/should it be used with a stock exhaust system? I've read people using it with no issues and others saying a header is required. Could anyone help out with that?

Also, I've got a Perrin intake and tube. Will those be ok to use with the STG 1 tune?

TIA.

The v1.5x OTS maps haven't been "beta" for a few weeks so definitely try them as they are more refined than what you are running now

You can absolutely run the e85 maps with a stock header/stock exhaust. No problem there whatsoever.

The cams need to test calibrate straight after an ECU reset. If you listen you can hear when they start to operate correctly. If you're doing it on a warm engine its about 20-30 seconds and really obvious after you 1st notice it.

You can also clear the accelerator pedal learning too by pushing the pedal through its full range 5 or 6 times while the ignition is on without the engine running.
