@shiv, any idea why OFT wouldn't turn up any fault codes? Perhaps I'm misinterpreting this function.

I'm guessing that the check engine light isn't powertrain related (the OFT only reads powertrain codes at this time). That CEL may be transmission control related. It's not unusual to get a code after a flash if you have a 6AT. It's triggers during the flash process. It will go away by itself after a few drive cycles.

Yea, it's transmission related -- P0700. I haven't flashed anything yet, but I have read my ECU. Would that cause it?

It's possible that the reading process may have trigged that code since the ECU goes into a diagnostic mode during the read process when it may lose communication with the TCU. We don't have a 6AT ourselves nor have we flashed more than a few ourselves. Perhaps some more 6AT OFT users can chime in?

Either way, nothing to worry about. It should go away by itself.

I had a p0700 too on first flash. I have never had a cel on my 6AT until that first flash.... it was actually before the first flash as i checked my code functionality immediately prior to flashing. I cleared the p0700, flashed stg1, and no codes for anything since. I have been logging since with OFT and no CELs or problems and logs are good.

I searched around and it did look like a trans related code, but I could never find exactly what it means. So far I have assumed it is a harmless code. It has never come back.

My original ROM is a ZA1J700D -- is OFT able to update me to the more recent versions?

every tune you upload will have the A01C ROM integrated in it. Just pick the file with your rom such as stage 1 700D, and the a01c rom will be implemented.

Quick question. I know you guys have a map developed for your own UEL header.

What about the Nameless EL header? Or an EL header in general? Just curious as to if I would be able to use the OFT for a good tune to pair with the Nameless header and 2.5" exhaust.

Thanks in advance.

There are OTS tunes for EL headers in the archive on their website. You would want to use the Stage 2 EL bin

Thanks. Just curious if anybody has actually used the two together and what kind of results they've gotten.

I have an Automatic and running a stock engine with no current plans to modify. Will I still benefit from OFT?

Yes. Reference stg1 91-93 oct map dyno results. Also stg2 EL header E85 tune can be used on a bone stock car running E85.

Also the car will run more smooth. Also if you have an early built vehicle the retune will correct a 5200+ RPM on/off throttle knock bug in the OEM tune -that only applies to early built MY13s.

So I'm pretty sure I read this earlier but just want to be sure... I would run the e85 el tune on my FRS with a drop in filter and stock otherwise and be perfectly fine right?

Yes... but you should always monitor with logging to be safe. Lots of people running with that setup without issues. His tune for E85 is supposed to be designed for E60+.
