![]() Ultimately the problem with this car is not the price. $25K is not much. It's the perceived value. It's just not there. |

This car is a MUST buy for me. I miss my AE86. RIP old friend. I just got back from the Scion dealer, and they won't take deposits yet. They said their GM won't let them. They took down my information and created a file for me, and I should be expecting a call as soon as I can put down a deposit for the pre-order or whenever they have information. What helped me was that I went in there checkbook in hand saying "I want this car, when can I get it?" They knew I was serious, and hopefully will get back to me whenever they can about when we can start plunking down cash for these cars. |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_911 The Porsche 911 (pronounced as Nine Eleven, German: Neunelfer) is a luxury 2-door sports coupe made by Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany. It has a distinctive design, rear-engined and with independent rear suspension, an evolution of the swing axle on the Porsche 356. The engine was also air-cooled until the introduction of the Type 996 in 1998. Since its introduction in 1963[1], it has undergone continuous development, though the basic concept has remained little changed.[2] Throughout its lifetime, the 911 has been modified by private teams and by the factory itself for racing, rallying and other forms of automotive competition. It is among the most successful competition cars ever. In the mid 1970s, normally aspirated 911 Carrera RSRs won major world championship sports car races such as Targa Florio, Daytona, Sebring and Nürburgring, even against prototypes. The 911-derived 935 turbo also won the coveted 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1979. In the 1999 international poll for the award of Car of the Century, the 911 came fifth.[3] It is one of two in the top five that had remained continuously in production (the original Beetle remained in production until 2003),[4] and was until 1998 the most successful surviving application of the air- (now water-) cooled opposed rear-engine layout pioneered by its original ancestor, the Volkswagen Beetle. It is one of the oldest sports coupe nameplates still in production. |

This is fanboyism at it's finest to even say "the FR-S is fun to drive, while the GT-R isn't as much". I can't wait until a Turbo/SC version of the FR-S comes out with a revised suspension to boot, bringing it's power in line with what it needs to be at to be considered a "Sports Car" and you salivating all over it. Something is either a "Sports Car" or it's not. And the FR-S is not, it's a "Sporty Car", and by throwing the word "Pure"TM in front of it doesn't bump it's overall performance up to even entry level "Sports Car" standards. The GT-R, Exige/Elise, Boss, Vette, Supra, MR2, and 2-door Porsches are. You have to get your expectations in check. Be happy with the car you want for what it is, but don't be like that Miata guy that told me that he'll go through the turns faster than I will in my overweight AWD econobox. This is like the 7th gen celica boards all over again in these regards. Ridiculous at best... bro. A Boss will slaughter this car on any track or back road, even a GT. The GT-R is a Super Car slayer, it doesn't matter if it's AWD and has electro-nannies, it's performance merits the class of "Sports Car". A 911's performance is beyond the 86 as well, even the Boxster and Cayman. And there's nothing wrong with the 86 being "Sporty", it's just not a "Sports Car" that others are touting it is while said other cars are not. Period. |

Here in Quebec the Corolla XRS is all of 26 400$, the MX-5 starts at 28 995$ and the Genesis is 26 579$ The MUSTANG is a tricky affair as on a 48 month lease despite the 21995 MSRP the payment is 553$ a month (at Ford Desjardins) and the residual value is 7935$, The Genesis is 450$ a month. if the FR-S comes in anything below the Genesis on 48 months, they've got me as a taker in Quebec, if not, t'will be long long nights in Scion dealerships negotiating all sorts of crap

LOL if you are a student with debt you shouldn't be looking a brand new car! I find it funny how people think this car is made for a student budget just cause it's a Scion!

I guess we found the thing to bitch about for the next 2-3 months, or perhaps forever.

So toyota is targeting younger generation with this car but the base manual coming out firing at 25K....if you get an AT or tag on any extra it will be easily hit 27-28K not including tax....how many college students or recent grads can afford this kind of price? It better comes w/ BeSpoke and spoiler standard or this is over price....working people like me can afford it but doesn't mean I'll buy it....
