I go to the Track personally. Twisty roads only get you so far. You fear hitting a tree or passing traffic traveling in the opposite direction. At the Track, you have run-off room and everyone is going in the same direction, so you can go flat out and not worry about a dear darting out in front of you. I anticipated $22-23k. This was largely based on the rumor of the BRZ being $25k. But the new price of the FR-S, I don't forsee the BRZ being $25k now. It will be more. And the people saying the FR-S is to expensive and it's helping them chose the BRZ now...are not even considering that. I think they will swing right back on over to this side of the fence when the price of the BRZ comes in. For me....I have hp in my current car. And I like hp just as much as anyone else. But I'm buying this car....not for that. I'm buying the "Potential" of it. And that's worth the $24,930 to me. |

Seems like toyota and subaru really missed the mark on these cars. I mean hp,weight, fuel efficiency, and price.

I think Scion intentionally let that .pdf leak with a lower figure just to soften the blow when the real price after DPH went live a few days later. haha

GTRs also come standard with navigation, leather seats, and a bunch of other junk. Again, besides the 5x price tag, what is the huge difference? The GTR was developed to make doing laps easy, the 86 was developed to make doing laps fun. You want to call one a pure sports car over the other? Why? |

The good thing about the FR-S being priced at $24,930 is that it is less likely that dealers will be able to tack on "market adjustment" pricing. It appears that Scion has already done so. Sure a few may try it in the first couple months of availability but the car will be a lot less "in demand" at $25K then it would have been at $23K.
I expect these cars to be in ample supply by late September or October. There may even be some sort of extra incentives offered by then. If not Scion the perhaps Subaru. We will have to wait and see if I am right. |

With no student loan defaults and paying off my entire credit card bill at the end of every month has given me a credit score in the 750s at the ripe old age of 23, without any major purchases such as a car. Still, anyone who needs a 6+ year car loan probably shouldn't be buying that car.

So what will happen if the BRZ is actually priced closer to the FRS? |

Edmunds has the BRZ at 25,300 est. and I don't see that being to far off. Edit: with the idea that getting the same options on the FR-S will cause price parity. I can't speak for getting the BRZ at invoice but that's just more price speculation. |
