Sorry to hear that OP, but is anyone else getting tired of "my car got hit" threads? They're about the most pointless threads I've seen in any forum. They offer nothing constructive, it's just a damn pity party. It's not like the OP is asking for advice, offering anything with entertainment value, or anything useful. I'm scratching my head at this one.

This is what I learned from all the "car curse" threads. Get a damn cam.

I guess you'd feel a lot better if a nice white chick like Scarlett Johannsson hit you?

Playing Devil's advocate, maybe from an SUV, she didn't see a low car like the FR-S. I sometimes worry that some won't see me; kinda like some people miss motorcycles. Did she make a mistake? Yes, but maybe she just didn't see you. Lessens the sin....

One Box of Aunt Jemima pancake mix going out to OP.

Really?

http://www.cnn.com/2014/02/25/us/nev...-vegas-police/

Vegas had made it official. I have been told and know several people who have been told here in ATL metro area that if it is a minor accident and the damage is minimal and no one is hurt to just contact the insurance companies.

From: http://www.gocolumbiamo.com/Council/...le.php?id=6175

Kansas City, Missouri
Officers do not respond to non-injury accidents where:
a. vehicles are driveable
b. no intoxicated drivers are involved
c. no third-party caller
d. drivers produce license and insurance (to each other)
These calls are handled using an “alternative handling” protocol which includes, walk in reports, telephone reports, transfer to a Teleserve Officer, or handling by the call taker without initiating a police response.

More and more municipalities are going to these policies due to costs. If you insist they come more than likely they will but policies are shifting to the participants handling it if possible.

I'm not going to research more examples but I am quite sure there are more.

On the damage I have no idea but that was quoted to me by a cop when some kid hit my rear bumber at a light . I called and the dispatcher did not want to send the cops. I insisted because the kid was real nervous about getting a report. The cop was annoyed and said "we don't do reports for damage under $1000." My reaction was a lot like yours. Not a good example on my part I agree. See my other post for what some jurisdictions are doing.
