First bumper gash - thanks hippie lady who can't park

I get home last night and park in front of my place. There's red Accord 4 dr. parked ahead of me with a lady and her dog behind it so, naturally, I didn't pull up too close to give her adequate room and to keep her ankle-biting dog from chewing on my bumper lip. I had probably 5 feet between her Accord and my FR-S.

Go upstairs to change and pack a bag to head down to my girlfriend's condo in downtown Chicago. When I walked out the door, I felt my ears turn red when I saw this:

I immediately knew that the lunatic who tried to park this 2012 Escape in a spot fit for a Fiat 500 had hit both my car and the car behind her. Upon close inspection I found two scrapes, both through the paint and into the bumper, on the rear of my beloved FRanceSca. I really wanted to go full Grand Theft Auto on her Escape - but I cooled down, took some pics and video, and called my local police non-emergency line to have them dispatch an officer.

Long story short, the vehcile owner comes out after the cops call her. She comes down and has the audacity to ask me if I backed in to her. The cop sees I'm about to flip a switch and looks at her with impressive incredulity and says, "lady are you out of your mind? There's no way you wedged this thing in here without hitting BOTH vehicles in front and behind you."

Anyway, I got her insurance info and am going to get an estimate done for a bumper touch up. This car is my daily driver, so I know it was bound to happen - but to come out and see this just floored me!

Ok, thanks for letting me rant.

I would love to see a video of how on earth she got that pig into that spot without doing more damage.

Nice job staying cool, I probably would have snapped. Its nice to see the cop help you out, good luck with the repairs. Hopefully she is more mindful in the future but I highly doubt it.

That part pisses me off the most. She had to have known she hit your bumper when parking, but when she got called out on it, tried to pretend you backed into her. People like her have no sense of responsibility or morality and will cheat & lie to get out of trouble. Sickening.

Omg! That's exactly why I'm waiting to get a house before I get the frs! These people at my apartments are beyond incompetent at parking. I'm glad you're getting it resolved tho.

One of the things keeping me from moving back to Chi-town is the way people park. They literally bump your car just to find out how much more they can squeeze into a spot. Well if you live in an apartment that is.
