FWIW, I've found this car difficult to launch consistently. With header and tune, my best 0-60 was 5.68. My next try was 6.1 and I thought one felt quicker! Wheel spin is a problem unless u let it spin all the way thru first gear and hit second gear just right. Abusive at best.

I have done that too and i swear the slower ones felt quicker, even my buddy in a 135i had times all over the place. That was using torque which i dont trust at ALL. 5.6 is very good if its a true number. |

I hear you, My only problem is that on my daily commute, the max speed limit is 40mph. 35 most of the way. I would be speeding in 2nd gear if I were to try to condition the batteries where I live. I would have to go out of my way with 5 to 6 hours of driving to get them conditioned properly.

Using torque more wheelspin = faster time. I dunno if that's the case at a drag strip as I've never been on one. |

I had a ecutek tune plus p& l header. 28 lbs in rear tire nothing in trunk. Used torque. Car was quick. Launched at 4500. Ran it along side friends focus st. Almost always had half car length on him.

We have good 1/2 mile "area" where we "time" bikes and cars. Best time with stock frs was 6.4. Header and tune allowed me to launch a little lower rpm. Car will actually feel slower with power band unkinked but is faster.

Hand timed, torque timed 1/4 mile was 14.3 at 97. Speed verified with radar gun.

I found that best launch requires tires with roughly half tread. Car is also noticeably faster once fuel gage shows 1/4 tank. I don't think this is due purely to weight. Feels to me as if car runs leaner at this point. Imo difference is too substantial.
