The updated intake tube was pretty much perfect right out of the box, so hats off to Supertek for sorting out those teething problems and also honouring an exchange. The updated (shortened) airbox coupling was still a little too long for the pipe to sit comfortably in my opinion, so I cut it down further until it was 50mm long.

Installation was straight forward ; hardest part was removing the existing sound tube all the way to the firewall, especially that one stubborn clip attaches the hose to the chassis. Brute force solved the issue and I managed to get everything out intact with no damage.

Butt dyno suggests little change in power from stock setup, but I hadn't driven the car in 2-3 weeks so my calibration is out :P Setup sounds great - no unwanted booming resonances at cruising rpms, with a healthy amount of natural induction noise above 4000rpm.

All in all I'm stoked with the outcome - to me, it's the way it should have come from factory!

Looks great! I recently installed this product but i have the same issue with the airbox coupling. I'm also thinking to cut it so it'll sit better. what did you use to cut yours?

I tried a few different methods. Youtube suggested using a hose clamp as a guide, but I found it difficult to get a clean perpendicular cut into the hose using either a box cutter (worse) or a double edged razor blade (better).

In the end, I used fresh box cutter blade placed on a flat-topped object of my desired height on my desk - this keeps the blade parallel to the desk at all times. I held the silicone hose against the object then used the blade to cut through it - this gave me a clear, nearly perfect perpendicular cut with a constant height.

For reference, the height I settled on was approx 50mm.

Ahh, I may just go this route. I was contemplating either using a hacksaw or Dremel to do the job, but a box cutter sounds like you have more control for a more precise cut. Thanks!!

Yes. It'll rise up about the same temp but it won't shake the heat whereas the stock one will drop 20-30F lower in comparison.

Our intake pipe and filter have proven performancegains over stock setup and other inlet pipes. We challenge anyone to do their own independent testing, and actually PROVIDE results. If our claims are not true we will gladly refund any customer. We have offered this already many times already, but still no one has come forward. We wonder why?

Its interesting that that we do not see these attacks against companies like HKS or Blitz that make similar products. Maybe we need to a 30 page forum thread that attempts to convince everyone.

Are you able to post your data?
I think I asked for it before but don't remember seeing it.

Not an attack, just what I saw in my own car.
Both reaches ~+140F being stuck in traffic, the lowest it went down to was about ~115F. Stock went down to ~95F at a much quicker pace too.
Both days were approximately 80-85F.
