This happened today, GTX compressor housing went through the band saw.

Elbow welded on along with a bung for the compressor reference line.

yea, the foam idea is pretty neat.... will need to look into that more...would help with preventing light leakage into the cabin, and you can also put a reflector behind the light easily (if needed).

All I did the for the rear cover is drill out the plastic rivets that hold on the factory light at toss the shelf back in, done. If I come across some black plugs for the holes I will do that. Other wise I will probably never notice them again after writing this.

I do think light will "leak" from this but it will just give me a chance to make some Hunt for red october submarine jokes.

How much is that intercooler going to restrict airflow to your radiator? Any concerns of overheating?

Cross that bridge when we get there, the intercooler is tall but not very thick by intercooler standards. As always there will be a development of this setup, I don't expect this to be a one and done project.

I will certainly be welding up my own intercooler for this when I settle on a design. The price of quality intercooler cores in custom sizes sort of prohibits making a bunch so this evo intercooler was a steel since its exactly the shape I wanted.

Do you think there is any benefit port polishing the compressor and turbine housings. I mean just a polish without taking any material off besides maybe some casting flash if there is any.

Yeah I love that idea, I did it to a GT30 I had a while ago. Never got to run it but it was beautful.

I called grimmspeed about doing this housing for me but they were backed up for 5 weeks.

I make this one time offer to be my non-sexual man life partner.

Amazing work man, I'm envious.
