Good luck finding what you are looking for. Some people just can't understand wanting something diff. than what they want or following what the car was primarily built for.

That being said I do remember seeing lots of ads in the early 2000 for bolt on bag set ups for many sport compact cars, and a couple of coilover piston setups. The people that knew the most about this setup and installed them back then were the "truckin" scene shops. I know a couple of guys had there cars done with air ride. One owner in my town had a bmw with air suspension. Drove like it was on a cloud.

I would suggest talking to a bag/lift shop that specializes in them seeing as most have the connections and know how to get you a good setup and have first hand knowledge. Good luck.

Damn everyone is hating on here...it was a simple question people just answer it if you know and don't answer if you don't.

Anyways, I'll be installing the airlift kit as well once my frs arrives from the dealership lol. Probably a couple weeks from now. I'll let you know how they feel once they're on. I can tell you know though nothing beats stock suspension for comfort. Bags will most likely be better than coilovers though. If springs are too rough for you I don't know if bagging it will make it any better

Just wanted to make sure false information does not spread, spring rates does not equate to quality of ride.

Did not mean to refer his lowering springs as quality of ride. Lowering springs on stock struts will effect the dampening/travel which effects quality. But aftermarket struts are usually stiffer than stock which would equal a harsher ride too.

My car is on Airlift struts and i love it. The 30 way dampers are great, i have no complaints at all!! Love that i can drop the car 4 inches from stock height to plus 4 inches into 4x4 mode in less then a few seconds!

I'm honestly considering air suspension for the brz. I'm not looking for a dedicated race car (I can pick 1 of 4 of my other cars if I wanted that), and I think air would be best for the shitty roads in NYC.

Just remember this, if you crack your pan, or wreck your suspension with a static ride, these internet trolls aren't gonna give you money to fix it...

Aftermarket struts being stiffer than stock is also a misconception.

Air suspension

I'm glad to see all the positive input I've gotten. I want to thank all those who have given me information. I live really close to Chicago and I know there are several guys out there who are part of this forum and come spring hopefully I can con someone in that area with air ride installed to take me for a rideto see how it compares.

Keeping your ride static to me means one of three things:
A) because race care
B) you live somewhere where roads are nice and smooth 365
C) your young and/or don't care

For DD in my neck of the woods you can't ride static, snow will be up pass your hood

Not yet, it won't be for a couple months before I do anything regardless. Here shortly within a week I'll check it out

Cups would be good. Since I also live in a place with snow we both know how bad potholes get and iv seen a few bags pop around here from them and the weather. A few people have even sold their air setups for coils or coils/cups. With cups if they blow then you can still ride. Just my 2 cents to try and redeem myself.
