Sure am glad I bought the Premium with no push button start feature and all of its idiosyncrasy.

Thanks in advance and sorry if there is an updated thread on this (nothing turned up but this thread when searching).
I stopped trying...will ask dealer when going for 1st oil change in couple months only thought.

With having the radio stay on until the door opens, couldn't we tap into the wipers/windows on the fuse box, like running the remote wire on an aftermarket unit.

I've had my BRZ for 7 days now (!!) and this is bugging me. I pulled the wiring diagrams and hopefully I can figure something out. Anyone have a solution? I know this is an old thread.

Do we?

I'm thinking we don't in our regular key cars. We turn our key counter clockwise one "click" and that turns the engine OFF, but leaves us in the ACC position so the radio is still ON.

To turn everything OFF preparatory to leaving the car, requires that we turn the key yet another "click" counter clockwise. The keyed-cars employ a two-step turn-off procedure.

Whereas, in my BRZ Limited, I must press the START button once to turn the engine OFF, but that turns EVERYTHING OFF ... including the radio. We must then press the START button once again to turn the accessory mode back ON to operate the radio. This does not trouble me, because I don't drive with the radio on as a rule; the radio is just for waiting while parked.

Am I confused?

With the car in gear at least for at
, press the start button once. It puts it into acc mode.

Buyer's remorse? Couldn't be further from the truth. My primary reason for getting the Premium model was my insistence of having the 'fabric' seating. Hate Alcantara.
The secondary reason was not to have all the computerized idiosyncrasies that comes with the push start option. Many of which have been questioned and discussed in this forum. Reread the above postings to realize all the confusion.

Post # 1 (from the OP): "How can I go from engine running directly to ignition in "ACC mode" (without shutting off the radio) when stopped ?"

I say "huh?" I could list all the other confusions just from this thread, but I hope my point is made.

Maybe someday, tho, when I get too old to turn, or find, the right knob or cannot find my keys or the ignition switch there will be be a robot programmed to my every preference..

Assuming the following post is not sarcasm, I can almost visualize the wipers operating as soon as one opens the door. (sarcasm, folks)

Love my push to start. I always wanted it in my last car and was glad to finally have it. The "issue" that this thread is about is such a ridiculous first world problem.

Solution: Turn the car off and then back on and deal with the handful of seconds it takes to let the head unit reboot, or stop waiting around for songs to finish.

Page 167 of Owner's Manual, suggest people read it if this is a "problem" for them.
