I work at a dealership and if the customer wants a specific color or option we don't have in stock, we'll do a dealer trade so we don't lose their business. Hell, we had to do that for mine. Haha.
But OP coming from someone who works at these places, less miles is definitely better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I bought mine on June 8th 2012 with 268 Miles on it from a dealer trade. I had went in and, ordered the car the way i wanted it. They got a hold of a dealer in LA that was going to be getting one, and had it traded to them in Fresno. The car now has about 21,500 Miles on it and i have had absolutely no problems with it other than a bit of Taillight condensation that i took care of with warranty.

I feel like perhaps I should revise my statement.
Your car will still run fine but i was worried a coworker would grind a gear on mine(so I picked it up myself). Let alone random ppl test driving it. Less will be better in that sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

That's 200 less miles you'll need to baby it. The warranty will add that milage and you'll still be covered. If that's the exact color/trim you want, grab it!
Try and have them come down because of the milage though

I bought mine with 300 miles on it because someone bought it, decided it was too slow and brought it back. So, I got my car with $3k worth of options for under $25k.
Now I am at 11k+ and could really careless about the 300 miles. In fact I hadn't even really thought about it until I saw this thread. Quote:

Following some of you guy's logic, you'd never want to buy a used car. I had plenty of used cars(all "sporty") with thousands of miles and none of them the engine gave out. There's nothing indicating a car with a few hundred miles NEW to indicate a red flag, after all, it comes with a drivetrain warrenty. My car was a demo at a point, it had almost 1000 KM and it the build date was 5 months prior. I'm over 35 000 KM with no problem, though when I bought it, I received about 350$'s worth of gas cards since I did mention the car had 1000 KM on it. Was it worth it? Absolutely!

On the flipside to this: I work at a dealer so I actually got to drive the car off the transporter when it arrived at the dealership. It had 1.3 miles on it when it went into my dealership's inventory. It's had three HPFP's. A gearbox. An O2 sensor. An axle. The glove box has fallen out while driving down the highway. Left front brake caliper seized. Wheel bearing. Left front door speaker. Left front dash speaker. A radio. It's not exactly been the most reliable car. |

OP, if you are just getting a regular frs, do the smart thing and call around your dealers or wait for your dealer to get the car in.
the only time you should do a dealer swap is if the car is very hard to get. |

During my commute I tend to see dealer transfer convoys. You can usually recognize them all in their dealer polo shirts, driving the speed limit, dealer plates on the back. Occasionally a single car and the courtesy shuttle behind it. The other day I saw a VW convoy and one of the drivers was smoking in the car. Not a huge deal other than that one smoker...my Jeep was delivered that way in 2005, I've never worried a day about it...had 85 miles on it when I picked it up.

I wouldn't worry about it, but use it as leverage to lower the price or get freebies.
